It's basically a haircut with clippers...

Ain't gotten my shit shaped up for like 3 months. I hate trimming my hair. I'll rarely get my shit lined up, too. I like my hair and all it's messiness.

I don't know if it makes a man better looking but damnit if I don't feel better after I've gotten my dome shaped and lined.

I don't think it makes that much difference. All I ask is no jheri curls!

:smt005:smt005The first thing people call my style is a jheri curl. They have no idea what the hell they're talking about.

Is it because you wear it curly? Before my son had his afro he used to wear it curl & people called it a jheri curl all the time. I could never figure out why.

Yeah, exactly. I put a lot of gel in it to style it and the gel holds my hair together in thick curls. It's straighter up top and on the sides, but still curly. The very back is the only spot where it looks like a jehri curl, but that's just how my hair is. Since I don't comb my hair for my style it also gets knotted up I start getting little dreads in some spots.

My son had the same problem so he started picking it out. Now he's gone from the afro to dreads.

Same for me, I always feel my most confident when I walk out of the barbershop. I think that has the biggest effect on my appearance.

I though it was a new men girdle or something. I saw an ad last week of one, it makes men's dack look bigger and ass firmer, no joke.

It's not really just the haircut. It's the really straight razor sharp hairline(although most barbers use clippers) you see on a guy after hes gotten a haircut at the barbershop. It's the difference between giving yourself a buzz at home vs going to the barber to get it done.
