Martin Luther King was Republican?

I just fell out of my chair when I heard there is evidence that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was once a Republican before he switched to the Democratic Party. I'm running this down for truth unless some of the quick action folks here find it first. I guess it was known that during Dr. King's time he had to deal with racist (dixicrat) Democrats in the South. I'm following leads that suggest many blacks were Republicans prior to the New Deal and the Second World War. Dayum, this is fascinating.

I "fuck" heard it on WNIS our local talk show from a lively discussion from a professor from Hampton University. Doing my own research to flesh it out for truth. "Fuck" not closed minded like many.

Bro, like I said in my previous post I'm fleshing this out myself for truth (never believe every fucking thing you hear, ya know) I fell out of my own chair. I promise you bro I will get something on this for you.

 

The Democratic Party didn't become "pro-black" until the mid 1960s. And don't forget that before the 1930s (when FDR became president), the Democrats were THE racist party. And don't forget that the Republicans are the party of Lincoln, and were the "pro-black" party. And pretty much all blacks voted Republican until the Great Depression. FDR caused the first mass defection of blacks to the Democrats as he (and especially his wife) treated them more equally. So I can definitely see MLK being a Republican, if it was early in his life.

King's dad was Republican but I do no think he was unless there is proof he was registered a Republican. Kennedy freed King and got Blacks to vote for him in 1960. Nixon could had freed him but didn't.

 

I went to google and typed in "Martin Luther King, a Republican" and got 3,370.000 results. There is one interesting article I want to digest first before I give it to you bro. It point out that MLK's father and grandfather were registered Republicans in the Party of Lincoln. MLK according to this article changed from Republican to Democrat in the early 1960's. If all of this is true then the Democrats have done a masterful job brainwashing generations of blacks.

Discovering that the Dem party today is different from the Dem party of the early 1960's is not a revelation to anyone but the person reading it for the first time. And that person should now go and stab every American history teacher they ever had in the eye, cause there's no damned reason anyone wouldn't know that.

 

I find it utterly hilarious that the very same group of people who 50 years ago branded MLK as both a communist and anti-American are now praising him in efforts to make their party appear to be more "diverse".

True, but that doesn't make people who feign surprise at the fact that it was much more common for Blacks to support Republicans rather than Democrats before the parties were realigned in the wake of the Civil Rights movement any less disingenuous or stupid.

 

Yet these republicans are the very ones who are afraid of change.

 

Every time around Martin Luther King birthday a republican conservative commentator or political figure brings up "MLK was a conservative republican". This is nonsense, if they heard any of his speeches at the time it was about equal rights and inclusiveness.
