McCain a ""Maverick"" from the start

    John McCain went against the republican party and voted that the Confederate flag should not fly because it was racist. He will be straight foward with the America people and work to put country first.

    Wow, I didnt know that the united states senate was voting on state issues, such as the confederate flag...thats news to me!

    And to think...its only taken him 8 years to come around after he initially tried to duck the issue in 2000 when he said it was a state issue and the flag was a symbol of heritage.

    I dont care that he changed his mind. What bothers me is that he initially supported keeping the flag just to get votes.

    Maybe it's John McCain's way of saying that he isn't what Kanye West said that George Bush doesn't care about a certain group of people. :wink:
