Obsession for Barbie Dolls Over Plain Janes

I think all of this hoopla over women who look like barbie dolls is misleading and nothing more than not seeing the forest for the trees of a great many white women who may not have the barbie doll look, but are as beautiful in their character and spirit than any of these plastic covered women that so many of us black men go google over. Just my opinion.

My own woman is not what you call a drop dead beauty, but she is indeed beautiful in so many other ways. She is kind, considerate, thoughtful, intelligent, sympathetic, thought-provoking, helpful, loyal and most of all she knows how to please a man.

Black men, there are a great many white women in this world who need a man to love them and not just for their looks, especially when the looks start to fade. There is more to a woman than just looks.

 

Barbie doll types are nice to look at but I don't obsess over them. Give me a plain Jane any day of the week.

cant lie, i go for the barbie dolls. even if i fail. i just cant settle for less than best. i'd get bored with a plain jane. the flyer she is the more i want her...

 

Same with men: humour, intelligence and kindness shine through and make you feel close to a man who isn't a big stunning athletic type...making him seem more interesting than your traditional 'masculine' man.

 

Amen. I think as a whole black men do a great job of seeing the beauty of white women who come in all shapes and sizes. White women more so than any other are told to be tiny in order to look beautiful. I've always perferred a plus-sized, curvy white woman anyway and my girlfriend fits the bill. You gotta go for what you're sexually attracted to anyway, but as you've stated character matters even more. If you're looking for a woman with the complete package with physicall beauty as well as the qualities you want in a future spouse who will be a good mother to your children, white woman have proven to thousands of black men that they fit the bill.

I just gotta keep it real, Chigirl. You ladies sure know how to make a brotha feel like a king! It is great that in our forums BM and WW can express their adoration for each other without reservation.

 

I'm only 22 and I was never big into the dating scene. I'm definitely picky when it comes to personality. But my taste in women have varied so much in shape and color. And as I get older I begin to notice what I like and what I don't like. A bad attitude can change my view of a woman quickly.

I can't really describe what I like. But just recently there is a Jersey girl I have become friends with who I think is absolutely gorgeous. I can't say she's skinny, and I can't say she's overweight. She's voluptuous. I think her curves are what makes her so attractive to men[and not just me]. For myself this attraction is a first for me. As a black man this is my own introduction to the phat booty.

She often works out, but she still talks about trying to get rid of her behind and thighs. Being a friend I say, whatever makes you happy. But at the sametime I tell her that it's the curves that have been grabbing the attention of the opposite sex. I can say that all day but she'll never take me seriously. At least she's easy to talk to. I never can says stuff like that around other ladies. ROFL

truthfully, I don't even like looking at the "barbie doll" types...their look just screams fake. I like approachable women. besides, IMO there is nothing sexier than a woman in a baseball cap with her ponytail coming out the back, wearing jeans (or even sweats) and a t-shirt...(but still looking feminine) as opposed to a miniskirt and cleavage spilling out of a low cut whatever.

Like my big brother once told me who was and is still into interracial dating. He has and always will be an equal opportunity dater when it comes to women in general. "I never judge a book by it's cover" he would always tell me. "It's how you treat the woman and what she gives in return is what makes her so special beyond looks alone" is what he once told me.

 

I must confess, I am attracted to 'barbie dolls' more than plain janes.

But, plain janes can be really hot, so it all depends on the person I'm connecting with.

 

I definately agree with nate in this respect. I believe black men in general appreciate beauty in all forms in respect to women. Personally, while everybody else lusts after celebrities, I find the "around-the-way" girl or "girl next-door" type far more appealing. Don't get me wrong, I'm still gonna seed-up Jessica Alba, but there's something very alluring about that subtle, natural, unpretentious beauty. The girl you see coming out of the grocery store or the girl renting a DVD at the video store. Y'all can have all the fake plastic chicks, I'll take them "office-Janes" all day long.

 

Realistically unless you dribble a basketball or run into end zones for a living, you won't have to worry about the Barbie types.

 

that's what I'm saying right there...not only do they look better, but for me, it's the fact that I can relate more to the plain jane at the grocery store or at blockbuster because she's more inclined to want to know YOU as opposed to the barbie doll who only is interested in what kind of car you have or what freebies she can get out of you.

 

I believe this to be a valid point. You also have to keep in mind you'd want a woman who is still attractive to you when she wakes up in the morning with yuck-mouth. If she's still fine to you before she "put's her face" on, then that's real beauty....natural beauty.
