Oddly enough, I think it's good that many people are flailing from higher gas prices because it induces them to think about the economic outlook of this country in relation to Republican economic planning. link Although the Bush tax cuts are not accomplishing what they're supposed to, i.e. stimulating economic growth, there are more powerful factors behind higher energy costs. One definite fact is that America has done too good of a job of selling its consumer values to the world. Hundreds of millions of people in China and India want cars and two-story homes just like they see in American television and movies. More cars on the road globally means a higher demand for petroleum. Lesser supplies of petroleum due to peak oil and the increasingly falling dollar means higher prices for gas.
