Someone said that male prison rape was more prolific than women being raped

    But who cares...they're all convicts

So the fact that someone's in jail means that it's okay if they're the victim of rape or some other kind of sexual assault? Yeah, Imma have to disagree completely with that one. It isn't just unconscionable it's a human rights violation. America is better than that.

Yeah, after I posted that comment I forgot who I was dealing with lol. It went right over my head. In my defense this coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

Even so, I have come across a lot of people who feel just that way about the issue of prison rape, specifically the "tough on crime" type of people who want to criminalize everything anyway. Those kinds of people disturb me a bit.

unfortunately too many of those types and they are far more effective at influencing the prison system.

Easier to crucify Jesus Christ than it is to heal like Jesus Christ in this world.

    Haha

Dude if u follow me u know I throw a fit when people applaud rape culture in prison for the simple fact that everyone in there arent criminals....plus let's face it....doing a deuce for possession shouldn't mean ur exposed to getting shanked or buttfucked

For a while it was a weekly thing to see yet another black guy wrongfully convicted and released after several years locked up. The trauma they endured alone as a result of that tough on crime stance you alluded to, makes prison reform worth looking into.

It's horseshit and these guys get peanuts when they're finally proven innocent.

Now a terrorist who kills scores of people in a movie theater or at a marathon......well they deserve whatever they fucking get

So does that Manson freak...why hasn't he been put down yet

Not to mention all the dudes who end with HIV from being raped in prison. But like it was said earlier the idea is if you didn't commit a crime you wouldn't have to deal with AIDS. Smh

U know I totally forget that angle

HIV/aids rates in prison has been touched on in the past

The whole system needs to be revamped and modernized for 21st century enlightenment

It's like everything in our culture is evolving through awareness except that

It's because it stopped effecting gay white men as much and gone up with black women due to A LOT of down low brothers and people being plain wreckless. It's amazing how quick some dummies throw caution to the wind because a girl can twerk smh

    Seriously

Someone is to blame about HIV/aids rates in the black community...and for once it ain't all on the white man (I mean he invented the shit in the first place...but still)

It all comes down to self esteem. When the only thing you think you have to offer is sex and when you think that's life has to offer you as well it's a recipe for disaster. The biggest issue with the black community is lack of vision beyond right now. Absolutely no vision of the future and to be brutally honest you have to understand why. If your life is dipicted as nothing but a struggle before long you adopt the attitude and say fuck it might as well live for right now ain't no tomorrow.

When I was at the academy, the subject of prison rape was brought up only a couple of times. Two inmates told me that he often went after the newbies inside. However, the thing I had learned about prison rape, looking back was that sometimes it is not one inmate who does the rape, it is more than one. One may do it but others might join in. For the victim, this is a very humiliating and terrifying experience. If they want to live, they have to play along. And these could occur anywhere inside. And once the rapist is finished, he had broken his victim's spirit. Prison is where the strong prey on the weak. And the inmates will find out if one is weak.

I had not been raped in prison, thank God. And I will not be raped in the world outside.

Inside prison, it is a regular occurrence. So don't break the law and stay away from prison.

Exactly and even if you break the law you shouldn't suffer in that way. Hey you stole a car so here's some rape with a side of AIDS?
People are too fucking obsessed with the idea of punishment. Especially when we know justice isn't served equally, so it's not just "bad" people serving time.

It's laughable that we condemn other countries who still lop off the hands of thieves, when our prison system promotes barbaric acts of psychological trauma
