Question for the women. Does race supercede looks?

Good morning. I was out with my girl yesterday (Blonde/very good looking) and in the same sequence of events I had: 1) a couple of white women (average to ugly) look at my girl as if she was out of her mind for being with me, 2) a couple of very good looking women look at me as if the wanted to rip my shirt off and have me right then and there, 3) A couple of people stare, and when I caught their eye give me a fake smile and look away.

My question is does race supercede looks. I am trying to put this in context so that I can paint a picture, and by no means am I trying to be arrogant. Just trying to illustrate a point. I am a fitness model with an extremely nice body and very attractive (6' 2" tall dark and handsome), but I see women (most times very average or below average) look at my girl as if she is out of her mind for being with me. Most times these girls are with average Joe to ugly white guys (or non black) with sloppy bodies, short etc. I will probably go to my grave never understanding this, but I wanted to get some perspective from a white woman (especially the ones that didn't date black men before and now do) Isn't good looking good looking?
 
What's good looking to somebody isn't good looking to somebody else. Some white people don't find any black person attractive. Period. And vice versa, as we know. Some people see a black partner as a step down, period, regardless of looks. When my aunt first saw the picture of my gorgeous ex-husband and me, I know her first thought wasn't "OMG what a pretty black boy." It was probably "OMG what is she doing with her life." Why try to decipher someone else, they don't know why you chose your woman, you don't know what they assume.
 
I'm with Moskvichka. What's good looking to one person isn't necessarily good looking to another.

And to me, the one thing that always ends up superceding looks, however good, is personality.

I will agree with Moskvichka in the contention that some people see dating someone black a step down the social ladder, but am scratching my head about some white people not finding black people attractive and vise versa. I am black, and have been around black people all of my life, and have never heard someone black say that all white people are NOT attractive. Even guys and girls that are black that have black partners have said that someone who is white (like a celebrity) is fine, beautiful etc. If there are white women out there that don't find me attractive because of the color of my skin, they are fu..... idiots. That has nothing to do with preference, that’s called racism. Preference isn't a white woman looking at another white woman side ways just because she happens to be with a black man. That is "you’re the same color as me, so you must be like me, so what the fu.. are you doing with him."

Just remember this, if I have preference for a certain girl (for instance I don't like white woman with fake tans), I don't treat them like sh.., or look at another black guy crazy just because he happens to be with her[/quote]

And yet it is the case. Let's say someone doesn't like Indians. They just don't like Indians and say "ew he's Indian". They won't categorize a good looking or an ugly Indian. The looks don't matter. Many people from my dear Russian community always say "those blacks". That's all they're concerned about - this neighborhood has a lot of blacks in it and I don't want to live there. Could be Naomi Campbell and Tyson Beckford hanging around the block, do you think they care? They truly feel that black people are some sort of aliens.

That's why I say - don't worry about it. You can't change their mind, they can't change your color.
 
Hot is hot. I admire men and women of all races, cause there are some damn fine people out there.

Just don't compare anyone to Tyrese, because standing beside that gorgeous specimen ain't nobody looks good to me :D

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some women just don't find black men attractive. That's their perogative. Majority of white women are with white guys. But dont pass that off as racism sir, because it isn't. That word is used WAY to much around here without proper context.

Well maybe not an "f'ing idiot", but maybe stupid. I am not sure if you realize this, but there is a major difference between preferring guys who are bald, tall, long hair, short hair, etc. You see, these attributes can come in any race, but to discude someone because of their race, that's a different ball game. I have my opinion, and that's what I think. Yeah, the majority of white women are with white guys, but I see way to many black men out their that could be better suited in terms of looks, personality, etc. But then again, there are a lot of women who care what their parents, neighbors, and society thinks, so this goes by the waist side.

And to answer your question: No I don't have an over inflated opinion of myself, but I have never had trouble attracting women of any race. The key word is “attracting”, because there are too many women who are afraid to act on their attraction.

BlkCasanova- Gee, what was I thinking?? Why would any black man think somebody was being racist towards them?? I don't know where that came from???

Come on, man. With all that effort, energy, and focus you put into your fitness, you should know the answer to this. Of course race trumps looks for some women.

I'll give you a reverse example. Some Asian women refuse to date Asian men and will only date white men. This has been a significant phenomenon in the Asian American community for some time.

For some WW, they'd be willing to consider a fat or out-of-shape white guy if he had enough game, personality, or money. On the other hand, they would not consider a BM or other man of color, even if he were handsome or a fitness model.

I just finished my studies at a university in the South. Everyday I would see smoking WW's with fat, unshaven, or uncool white guys. Some of these same girls would give me attitude. Although I'm not as fit as you (but I'm working on it), I've gotten attention from some hot WW's and others are like "yeah right, I would not even consider a guy of color." In the racialized environment of the U.S., race trumps looks for some women. On the other hand, money bleaches--a popular saying in Jamaica. But who would want a woman like that anyway?

First of all, this paragraph reeks of inflated ego whether you're willing to acknowlege it or not. An irrefutable fact is that many if not the majority of white women are not attracted to black men whatsoever just like many blacks, asians, hispanics and all other races respectively have a tendency to associate with and liaison amongst their own kind.

Secondly, don't be so quick to judge those who you judge yourself. Your interpretation of a hot white girl's coquettish glances at you might be just about as flawed as the "average to ugly" girls' perception of seeing you with your oh so gorgeous blonde hunny. Have you ever noticed that people look at people just for the sake of looking at people?

As for "fake" smile... What? Are they supposed to smile at you admirably? Are you in need of their facial reassurance that your IR relationship is acceptable?

I respect you for what you're doing man and can commend you for your brave effort... IR relationships aren't exactly easy I know that, but please don't overreact to the gestures and glances of people..
