I'm a Nike fan to the heart but for running,, NOT. Reebok or New Balance (expensive pair not the cheap pair) will work wonders.

Make sure you get the correct shoe for your arch. The ascis website is very user friendly. I use to run in nike, but I just recently switched to Ascis, loving it so far.

Got the gel surveyor recently and it was a good move.

Cool, thanks for the advice :smt001

I love Nikes too, but the pair I have now give me blisters and also hurt my shins due to lack of support. I thought it was the way I was running, or even because the shoes are old. I have decided its time to buy a real pair of actual running shoes, designed for running.

Awesome, thanks for the recommendation. I will ask for help. I always assumed they were just in there to make money, not always knowledgable lol but I am sometimes a bit of a pessimist.

thank you. I will check them all out!

Yeah its usually teens working the mall stores lol. It may be easier to find a more knowledgeable salesperson at sports authority if you have one in your area.

Another good one is Brooks. They have a feature called "Shoe Advisor" which helps you find the best shoe style for your stride. I first tried Brooks is when I found them on clearance at a sporting goods store. I bought a couple of different styles to try, and luckily one of them was perfect for me. I bought more via their website and did the questionnaire and it recommended the same style. They are on the expensive side, but what I did was order the previous year's model of that style to get a cheaper price.

I bounce between them & Asics, depending on availability, price, etc., and Asics has the "Shoe Finder" feature.

    Very helpful! Thank you!

I have small, wide feet and have to mentally tell myself to run flat on my feet. I think I have higher arches, which may be why I run on my toes. Which is prob why I get shin splints lol

If I could find a good shoe w an arch made for a foot like mine, I think that would help a lot.

tam gave you some great advice...have your arch evaluated first...most drug stores have those self service foot evaluations for inserts...armed with more information check out the insert that they recommend and then look for that in a new shoe...i like nike but we have nike outlets all over out here...

Like Beasty & Lippy said, you definitely need to get the best arch support you can find. Fascial injuries are extremely painful and hell to recover from.

Ok, yes I've seen that commercial. Thanx :smt001 think I'll check this out and then go this weekend to look at shoes and see what they recommend.

Nothing worse than investing in the wrong shoe
