Sanaa Lathan a possible troll?

Sanna Lathan was on a late night talk show and she was talking about her
interracial movie "Something New". Im a bit pissed because she sat up there and said that this the first bw, wm interracial romance to make it to the big screen. What is halle berry invisble to her or something. And last time I checked actually bw, wm romances outnumber bm, ww romances onscreen. I think she has a problem with bm hooking up with ww if you ask me, cause what will possess her to tell that lie.

BTW, That is also what the director (A BW) and the rest of the cast is going around saying. I hope this movie bomb at the box office because
of the lies that they are going around spreading.

 

I could care less who Lathan sleeps with. I think her speech (as well as the director) is just a ploy to attract people to the movie.

 

I agree w/ Infiniti. Sanaa knows this isn't the first WM/BW movie to hit the big screen.

 

Sanaa's flick ain't doin' much at the box office.

Honestly, kenny, I wouldn't be surprised if she were to sign up for this very website and start trolling in here.

 

Many BM and BW have a distorted view of IR relationships with the former saying that the latter has it easier in IR and vice versa....both face hardships that are very similar but neither likes to admit to it, since it doesn't fit into their argument.

This movie is supposed to be the "answer" to the supposed wealth of BM & WW, AW, and LW movies....there are many movies where the BM is placed alongside a WW partner but it is rare that it becomes a sex-filled escapade. The film's hidden purpose is to encourage BW not to wait around on BM...which is not a bad idea....if the right one comes along, than that's great....but they don't need to slit their wrists looking for some diamond in the rough....get the best man available....this will lessen the tensions in IR dating...why do you ask? Well the only reason WM and some WW look funny at IR dating with BM and other types of women is because BW give the funny looks and make rude comments...it makes it easier for whites to give their two cents.....as BW allow them to sit on their right hand side at the table of "dissing." Many WM get to degrade BM and say all the things that they'd normally have to be silent about....at the same time...getting BW would be the ultimate trick for them since they view BM as their primary competition for women and power.....of course you have to understand....BM despite being on the bottom of the social and economic totem pole...are still heavily desired by more educated BW....and even women of other races.....no other group of men can claim this.....if they had little or no $$$$$, they'd get nothing. Now that many BM are getting the power and $$$$, our ascending status will be met with more resistance....chiefly from WM and some BW who know that things are already imbalanced....and that the disparity will grow....expect more films touting the virtues of good white men who can make our beautiful, kinky haired, strong sistahs...feel good.

 

I swear Chosen an I are using the same brain waves. Not only does he articulate very well what I usually think, but whenever I read his posts, I can go all the way through them without any rebuttal of any sort practically everytime.

to add a little some to the topic- Monster's ball is not an romance. Though a bw and wm become a couple in the movie the focus was on the other things i their lives, the pain of wm character and his emotional withdrawl the struggles faced by the bw whose husband is executed and son dies.

In romance love rescues and heals all ills. In drama love does not heal but sustains the character till they grow into realization.

All you need from white men and white women who disagree with interracial relationship is for them to remain silent about the matter and the presence of the loud black women who disagree with interracial relationships prevents whtie men and white women from just walking on by? Black men are heavily desired by black women period. This is true for most groups in the USA they desire and/or prefer individuals from their own groups. One could argue that is more true for black americans because they have the lowest intermarriage rates in the usa. I don't think that the "lowest" of the low black men are desired by professional black women after all the group of black women who are doing the majority of claiming about there being a shortage of black men are professional black women who are claiming that there is a shortage of professional black men.

Interracial dating is more a male "activity" than it is a female activity. Generally speaking at any given time there will be more interracial dating on the parts of male than females. Asian men may be the exception to this fact. It is the white male (as a group) who continues to have the most freedmon to date whomever without marked criticism-feedback-questioning-etc. It is the white male (collective group) when can step to non-black women without having all of his ducks in a row without their being much feedback. At the present time and in the last 2-3 hundred years it is the white male who has been advantaged by interracial couplings. Actually it advantages whites as group more so than non-whites.

There is a shortage of american men period from all groups. This shortage is greater among black americans. The fact that more non-black women particularly white women are more willingly and interested in dating non-white men results in part from the shorage of white men. You are correct as more non-white gain money and status-power white men will have to compete differently this should be a big pill for them to have to swallow. But I still white males will remain the most preferred and mroe importantly the least likely to be met with opposition that would require them to up their game. In other words they will still get a break even if they are less attractive, less intelligent, less educated, earn less etc. by women than will non-white men. This is why the white man in something new is given the carpet so to speak while a black man in a similar situation would have been questioned.
