swag has only just started to hit the golden shores of my homeland, so i for one shall not stop using the word swag swag, swag, swag, swag, swag, swag, swag SWAG, SWAG, SWAG, SWAG, SWAG, SWAG, SWAGALICIOUS, SWAGALICIOUSNESS, SWAGERIFIC, SWAGTASTIC, SWAGERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS GIFSoup
I've witnessed plenty of examples that counter that. Again, I've witnessed plenty of example that counter that.
I hear awesome used in professional setting severywhere as its a real, not made up word and is in the dictionary. Swag is not. You can not compare the two.
I was sick of the word the first time I heard it. I never understood the appeal to it...it's lame IMO.
Silly words often shared in casual conversation. Not so much in the professional circumstances. Big difference. What constitutes a "real word?" D'oh was at one point not considered a real word until the popularity of the Simpsons gave it a definition. Other words like McJob also made into Webster's dictionary. As I'm typing, with the spell-check in place, d'oh and McJob lack a a red line underneath, indicating those words are part of the English dictionary. Philologists can give you better insight on the war of the words. And lastly, swag ISN'T a made up word. The definition currently used for it, as a trendy word. could be considered made-up, but is no different than the word faggot being used for something else.
Again, I've witnessed plenty of examples to counter that in the workplace. What qualifies as a professional environment to you?
Oh god, who would buy that, let alone wear it. I suppose at the time though, he did score the game-winner at the buzzer from 32ft to beat the Bucks. (108-105). http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/video/2007/01/04/VI2007010400441.html Where he said it...(last minute of vid). LOL @ his swagalicious sweater.
I never really understood SWAG even though my son uses it. I dont like it. But Awesome.... YEAH BABY!!! I use it all the time and I like that people understand that if Jay tells you something is awesome then he really likes it. I never use AWESOME in vain...
When asked what was his biggest weakness:- “It’s possible I’m a little too awesome.” - President Barack Obama. Campaign trail in 2008. The first time “awesome” appeared in the Oxford English Dictionary, in 1598, it was a description for someone feeling awe, rather than someone inspiring it. But it wasn’t too long before the now-traditional meaning made its first recorded appearance: “A sight of his cross”, wrote a Scottish Presbyterian sermoniser in 1664, “is more awsom than the weight of it.”
I think we can agree that people have different opinions. I say tomato and you say tomoto. I say its right and you say its wrong. I say up and you say down. No big deal. We are free to have our own likes/dislikes and there is no law in having a difference in opinion. At least not in the USA...LOL Just go with what YOU like!!! Its your life. Does not matter what others think. Uncle Jay has spoken...smile.
