Why do black people catch so much flack for being Republican or supporting Republican candidates?

Almost reminds me of how they shouldn't talk or dress a certain way or have certain interests.

MY opinion is because most Republicans are viewed as racist and for the rich. IDK. I am NOT a Republican, but think the woman has a right to her opinion.

Agreed. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I'm a conservative, but I don't care if someone says they are a liberal. I especially don't care what a random celebrity thinks about the candidates or issues. I can just see the next headline "Jay-Z supports Obama, Stacy Dash supports Romney...where does Damon Dash stand?"

Doesn't matter. She's still a beautiful woman, but if she wants to keep a job, she shouldn't go into Miss Diva mode after her debacle on Single Ladies.

I don't even know that it's only politics per se but more a community minded can't date out or vote out or anything because you lose your black card.

This chick is free to vote for whomever she wants, I suppose the bigger question is who cares.

    I never understood this.

Why is whomever she votes for relative to any of us.

Sounds like she needed some twitter controversy and attention.

Hollywood types have that need to be talked about and I haven't heard about her in a hot minute.

    She could have tweeted #attentionwhore

Who Stacey Dash votes for is rather irrelevant at the end of the day and those folks who felt the need to insult her with racist terms are pathetic fools for playing the game and giving her attention.

They revealed more about themselves than about her.

I do think when actors put their beliefs on religion, politics and other out there they make themselves fodder. So she must have weighed what she was getting into.

To what's in bold, this kind of thing is on a completely different level.

It is a contributing factor of why there's a lot of division with black people within the black community.

Ie - we aren't really alike, too many of us are different in some way.

Which is why I think she knew exactly what she was doing.

You know what they say about publicity.

Watch her get a reality show on VH1 or E! now.

I think those folks who made racially insensitive tweets to her were way out of order and revealed their true nature.

Yes she is entitled to her opinion but,she has gone the wrong way. LA,it is bacause they support pols who not only go against their interests but, sometimes really blatantly go all out to supress the vote or think slavery was the best thing for Blacks.

Still very untrue. WHo the fuck do you hang out with?

Maybe between your circle of idiot/misinformed friends but the republicans I know are some of the most caring/thoughtful people around.

Oh and it looks like Ms Dash got a ton of hate mail because she's black & voting for Romney. Big surprise

I know how the Republicans are portrayed in the media. I certainly can read what Mr. Ryan and the idiot in Arkansas read and print. IRL I know a few Republicans, whom I like on a personal level, but disagree with politically. I don't see why you need to swear at me for pointing out an observation :smt102I have never attacked you or your beliefs, and if you READ my post, I said that attacking her is WRONG.

While Blacks are not monolithic in politics, there is a perception that the Republicans are not that inclusive and their policies have a negative effect of black people generally. It is her right to vote or support whoever she wants, and she is cute and has cute booty.

I have a couple of black friends (I am black for those who don't know) that are extreme right wingers. Since I have known these two guys for a while we have come to an understanding that we do not talk politics if we are to continue being friends. Apart from the politics we get along just fine.
