Seems like there are some avid readers on the board so I thought it would be fun to see what sorts of interesting and/or entertaining books people have been reading and maybe get an idea of what I might pick up next. I'm always looking for something new and different to read so when I learned that a member of this community had published a book, I decided it was worth a try. Wedlock's An Inextricable Tale is a fast-paced wallop of a novel worthy of an afternoon at the beach or, in my case, on the couch. With a protagonist that can't seem to stitch an inch of harmony in his life, the reader can't help but wonder what bad decision he'll make next despite all of his cogitation. Truly an entertaining read and worth picking up. I passed my copy along to a friend and know it will get passed around in her circle too. Anyone else read anything good lately?
I read Secured Credit:A Systems Approach in conjunction with the Uniform Commercial Code Sect. 9, and threw in just a smidge of the Bankruptcy Code just for fun. It was a heart-wrenching smorgasboard of lending pitfalls and traps - this book is only for those who can afford to lose sleep at night berating themselves for lending money without a complete security agreement. The ins and outs of lienfiling was adventurous and heart-stopping, and will cause a trip to a filing office to be filled with newfound excitement and fear. All in all I will give the book the same grade I got in the class - B+!
Conversations.Summer Reading -Excerpted from Veema. Thank you so much for those kind words! That's something that means a lot to me and gives me more inspiration that you know.I consider the time you took to read the novel like a gift to me. I was looking at Wedlock's book one day on amazon, will definitely find a copy now! Summer reading...am going to France for two weeks in August and am planning a date with a deckchair, me and a large stack of novels! Don't get round to reading enough day to day as I'm always busy or too tired to concentrate, so going to take some fat novels. Have got David Copperfield, Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South, some Thomas Hardy and Orley Farm by Anthony Trollope to sate my Victorian novel fetish. Just finished Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart which was absolutely amazing.
Just finished reading George Jackson's "Blood In My Eye". Very wonderful book and a must read for any person who considers himself/herself a real intellectual, even though you might disagree with some of his views.
