I know what the census are used for, but are they getting more and more intrusive? Asking the names, age, race and phone numbers of ppl living under that roof?

    what are your thoughts?

I like my privacy as much as the next but some good things do come of the info they collect. Having said that I despise giving out all that personal info.

3-4 years ago in Colorado gained another congressional seat because of redistricting that came from 2000 census info. The Republicans balked at the extra seat, though. They obviously didn't see it as favorable to them.

Look they may ask but you don't have to answer. I wrote in haitian in the race box. They had one for the japanese and chinese. You can write in american in the other race box. Names can be made up along with ages and phone numbers. The governement already knows your age and name. Your parents gave it to them when you were born.

So you don't have to tell the truth on the census form? Hmmm...good to know. :D

I know. The govt already have a data base on you via SSN, driver license, student loans, passport etc.....but why another govt agency collect your personal info?
I also know you dont have to answer some of the questions. I fill in every form including job, school, anything as an American in the race box!

It's funny how I don't remember hearing anyone mention government intrusion with the census before when our president didn't have a year-round tan.
