This is why they want to make him "A One Term President".

This is why they want to "Take Our Country Back".

Damn that Obama wanting to unify the country and give their children hope instead of the usual recipe of fear! GRRRRRRR!!!!!!

I don't get it- what's so inflammatory about a bunch of little white kids hanging out with the President? What was the photographer's point in taking this picture (with NO kids of other races in it), I would like to know.

The TEA Party are comprised of a bunch of reactionary cretins who think any president other than white are illegitimate.

But to elaborate on the picture, the children view Obama as a superhero of sorts, for lack of better expression. They all revere him as the president that can do magical things. White children especially are fond of him. And one thing about children is that their brains are continuously developing and with his influence they can become more progressive and open minded people. And this is exactly what the reactionary establishment wish to eradicate. Reinforce their children with fear of change instead of hope.

That's kind of the feeling I was getting from it.

What I wanted to say (but didn't want to get slammed by the fucking stereotype police around here), was that the Tea Party parents are just jealous because the President is so much cooler than them. Those kids idolize him! You wouldn't have gotten that reaction if grumpy old Nixon walked into the room, bless his heart lol.

Why do you think that is? I would have thought black kids would be crazy about the guy, unless black people have different conversations about Obama which makes him seem more like your next-door neighbor. All I have to go on is the crew talking to him on the Tom Joyner morning show.

Nixon's more of a joke for children and people to make fun of generally. Although he's considered the "most liberal President" in the U.S. since FDR, he's also considered to be a very arrogant and strange fellow.

Black children like Obama as well, but it's pretty much expected due to relatedness. Again, children as a whole tend to look at figures like Obama as special. I wish I can provide a strong answer, but I can't.

If we could all look at the world with the eyes of a child, what a wonderful place this would be to live.

My parents are Tea Party freaks - I'm just glad to be old enough not have to listen to them talking about this particular President. They have always claimed up and down not to be racist, but I have never quite believed them.

My mother thinks Sarah Palin is adorable and a "wonderful woman", so that gives you some insight on her intellectual level right there. :smt076

We still retain certain kid-like behavior. Belief in the supernatural being one thing. But our adult minds basically mesh the imagination and the human ego, which then creates things like spirits, gods, and what have you. And even more so, ideas like superiority complexes and what have you.

The world would be a better and more cheerful place if the eyes and mind can see past irrational concepts like racism and differences.

Tea Baggers fear unity and love. They want hate and fear.

Lewis was right. He wrote a book about it called "It Can't Happen Here."

Another writer I need to look into. A writer who dared to criticize capitalism and the status quo is someone I would be very interested in reading...

Someone neg-repped me and said "LEAVE." - of course they didn't sign it (chickenshit as usual) - for my posts on THIS thread. Wonder why that was? I can't think what could have pissed anybody off.

It's just that it's usually about something else, not about politics. I mean, I'm a flaming liberal for fuck's sake. Unless they think only black people are allowed to listen to Tom Joyner or something (re: a previous comment I made).

What would this place be without your myriad contributions? Some of them might not rock someone's world, but grown ups skip over what doesn't suit them. :)
