Personally, I think this one is the very best I've discovered:

Honestly, I can't take all the credit for being 'positive.' As a human being, sometimes things get to me, and sometimes I don't always feel as positive as I should or could be, but I am only human after all...

but, my spirit is not, at least not anymore. My chosen faith is HOW and WHY I have learned to not only stay true to myself, but also how to deal with the modern world. Since this religion I speak of is one that fits me like a glove and makes me feel content with it's principles, I have been practicing it for nearly 3 years.

Ditto mate, without my faith in Jesus Christ, i could not see life in its most simpliest, barest form. I could not see through the forest of materialism, hate, greed and live not for myself, but for my God and humanity. I even chose my profession, not because of my fulfillment as a person, but because of my love for Jesus and his creation, humanity.

so, i echo you man, i cant take the credit, i personally give all the credit to my Lord and savior.

That's why I was interested in it. My boyfriend has told me a little, and I like the idea of controlling the brain away from negative feelings and thoughts, as I think I get ground down by thinks like jealousy, anger or bad self-control, and trying to be more positive and controlled. I also like the no-dogma aspect of it, the way it is quite individualised so you spend time on your own (I don't like religion to be public) and the peaceful aspects of it. Look forward to finding out more and of trying some meditations this summer. :)

Tuckerreed, I definitely appreciate your input. Obviously you are already years ahead of me in regards to living a simple life and I would lie if I said I wouldn't have a hard time giving up some of the things I enjoy. Like having my car available whenever I want for example or yeah electricity to switch on the AC right now. But that doesn't mean that I can't start taking little steps to start and hearing/ reading about your experience is definitely great so keep the ideas and links coming.

Tuckerred, I had a chance to check out some of the websites you posted, some interesting things out there. Do you live in a Co-housing community? If so, how long and how do you like it? It's an interesting concept. I thought about doing something like this on a smaller scale. I would love to live together with a few people who somewhat share the same lifestyle and characteristics I have. It would be great to share some of the things you deal with when living alone, as long as people respect each others privacy- that would be the only thing I am afraid of.... ending up with a nosy and judgemental housemate.

yes, i have lived in 3 cohousing, one i founded in latin america when i was in my mid 20s. I really enjoy the social aspect of sharing and communication and communitarianism with the freedom of privacy. I also like the Kibbutz model of Israel, but not the commune model.

you should try looking into them, also ecovillages as well.

also about cars, there are many ecofriendly cars now a days, from the Toyota Prius and Yaris, to the Honda Element, as well as, other kinds. so simple living is very much easier than before.
