Which are your favourite travel websites and why?

I figured someone might have a gem or 2 that are not that well known. If so, post the link here (especially if anyone has good tips for Rome, Italy)

(searches most travel websites at once for the best tix price so you save time)

www.about.com
(using it right now to plan a trip to Italy and it seems helpful)

www.nyt.com
(they have good travel reviews and things to do in their "36 hours in ......" series)

 

Good thread idea! I have nothing to contribute, but am looking forward to reading it!

On a related note, I do love to watch the show on Travel Channel about exotic foods - the guy is always eating some kind of pancreas, brain, heart etc... or some wierd fish. It looks fun. I would try about anything as long as it is dead.

I will contribute on this thread as I come across the good sites, but does anyone have any tips on travel to Australia? The poster aiwa has given me an idea or two, but just throwing it out there if the braintrust has any sites handy that they like to go to for the hottest deals?
