Instead of posting stories about random economic indicators, how about you provide examples of actual policies implemented by the Administration that had effects on the economy that were separate from the prevailing trends that existed when Obama left office.

Shit, I can give you plenty of examples of policy decisions that they're making to fuck black America in the ass:

Good and fair link, did you not really understand my aircraft carrier analogy? For you to be upset and complain in year 2 and 3 of Obama's term is completely unreasonable. Look at the chart below to see when the GDP finally started to bounce back, no surprise its towards the end of Obama's first term. If you wanted to complain about someone's performance blame the complete lack of oversight in the lending markets that began under Clinton and proliferated under Bush for the DIRE circumstances that Obama inherited day one. It was damn near a minor miracle that things were finally turning around and heading the right direction after his first term.

"The financial crisis that began in the US housing market had turned, by August 2007, into a full-blown global credit crunch that plunged countries around the world into recession. In the US, the economic downturn was the deepest since 1945 and the longest since the Great Depression."

Its easy for you to cite "unreasonable" because again, you're set. Many people not privileged, needed a first or second job. There were real-life ramifications.

In any event, I'm sincerely glad he was able to eventually lower it and that it's continuing on that path.

The great depression took at least ten years to get out of. He did this in less time. You don't go from 9% unemployment to 4% in 1 year. It took at least 2 years to get us to the great recession if you don't want to count the 01/2001 spot.
I mean if someone blows up a bridge do you really expect for people to fix the bridge at the same time it takes to blow it up?

I can understand what you are saying, that you needed a job or two and the economy was trashed and was not recovering fast enough to change your circumstances at the time. Still the economic realities of that time where historic and no one man or administration was going to turn it around quick and easy. I have posted the video below before, it is the best and I mean THE best, concise 30 min video on how to understand the economy, I have ever come across. I encourage all to watch it. Lastly while i worked and sacrificed and risked more than most to get where I am, I too was affected by the 2007-08 economic crisis, some of my real estate holdings only regained their value in the last couple of years, maintaining said properties in an uncertain market was not fun at all. In addition, the stress of having to make payroll for my employees when many clients were defaulting or struggling with payments led to some stressful times as well, so while I was fortunate to have employment and keep building my firm, that time was not all wine and roses for anybody, so that "privilege" you mention above does not come easy.

Thanks for explaining and the video. I was sorta thinking this. I'm far from being mistaken for an economist, but I do recall some of this from my econ classes in college. The thing that gets me is the insane hypocrisy from Obama haters who went on month after month about how the economy was so terrible and discrediting the BLS' unemployment rate, but like magic.... Those numbers suddenly became valid on this POTUS' watch when common sense says that it's clearly a continuation from the 6 years of improving under Obama.

President Donald J. Trump Prioritizes Historically Black College and Universities
    EDUCATION

    Issued on: February 27, 2018

    [IMG]ALL NEWS

Established by visionary leaders, America’s HBCUs have long played an integral role in our Nation’s history, providing Black Americans opportunities to learn and achieve their dreams.

    President Donald J. Trump

PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP CONTINUES TO PRIORITIZE HBCUs: With the announcement today, President Donald J. Trump demonstrates his commitment to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

    • Today, President Trump announced Johnny Taylor, Jr., the former seven-year President of the Thurgood Marshall College fund, as the Chairman of the President’s Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
      • On February 28, 2017, the President signed an Executive Order announcing the President’s Board of Advisors on HBCUs.
      • Chairman Taylor will work closely with Johnathan Holifield, who was appointed as executive director of the President’s White House Initiative on HBCUs last year.
ADVANCING HCBUs: President Trump has prioritized HBCUs since the beginning of his Administration.

    • President Trump’s February 28, 2017 Executive Order was the earliest any President had signed an Order on HBCUs.
      • In addition to creating the White House Initiative on HBCUs and the President’s Board of Advisors on HBCUs, the Executive Order created an Interagency Working Group to advance and coordinate the work regarding HBCUs.
      • The President ordered government agencies that regularly interact with HBCUs to develop annual plans to “strengthen the capacity” of those schools. There are 31 agencies that will submit such plans.
      • The Order will help improve HBCUs’ participation in Federal programs and foster more and better opportunities in higher education.
    • President Trump’s proposed budgets for 2018 and 2019 have maintained funding for HBCUs.
      • The Department of Education worked with HBCUs to protect $80 million in Title III carryover funding.
      • President Trump has called for an additional $20 million in funding for the Strengthening HBCUs program above the amount set in the recent budget deal.
      • The President’s budget has called for an increase of $400 million for the TRIO program and an increase of $300 million for Federal Work Study.

Signed that EO last year and has either not allocated funds where promised or has had Ditzy DeVos slash the aforementioned programs.

Just like the "criminal justice reform" that he keeps having "meetings" on, but refuses to endorse any of the proposed legislation that crosses his desk.

He tabled the latest bill three weeks after the photo op with those black pastors.

It says it right in your LINK...why. Because President Trump can't back any CJ Reform UNLESS Congress is behind him to see it through and the Senate has declared they're not endorsing anything until after the midterms.

"..The bill drew backlash from Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), who called the proposal a “jailbreak” that would “let serious felons back on the streets.” Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) on Thursday said that construcive conversations are currently being had with White House about the legislation, "but nothing is final yet."
"With Republicans in the majority, any agreement must be endorsed by the President and include a commitment from Republican leaders to move it through Congress and get it to the President’s desk,” Durbin said.

Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas) said on Wednesday that the Senate wouldn’t take up any new package of prison and sentencing reforms before the midterms.

Also, this praise from the DOJ appears to reference releasing drug traffickers, not users, not dealers. I certainly don't want actual traffickers out as part of the reform, do you?

So this link is not about funding actual colleges, which was what my post was about.

This referenced financing prep programs for those who feel they cant cut it when tney get to college. So another topic, right?

Additionally, these subsidiaries program cuts are not unsual and do not reflect that President Trump doesn't want to help actual Black Colleges financially.

Superfluous cuts happen in every Admin.

Absolutely! In my last back-and-forth with a Trumpster... The Trumpster said the garbage about how blacks are supposedly doing much better under this president. I simply told him... I see today's situation (in terms of unemployment numbers, markets etc), and I refuse to see this president as any sort of savior as I'm aware of the economy he inherited. Also, that most of us have a vivid memory of the economy now, 1/2017, and both 48 and 96 months prior. Of course most anti-Obama folks (including Trump) totally ignored and/or disputed an important thing like the unemployment rate until this POTUS came along.

Despite his all shenaneganis, antics, short comings....it appears Trump might be winning his 2nd term. I am yet to see who is going to unsit him. Don't see anyone: Cory Booker, Uncle Joe and Harris could try all they want but the Trumpster will stick by him no matter what and they are going in to poll booth with droves to put him back in the oval office.
