I want to say thank you to the veterans who have given their all so that we can protest and disagree with our government when it does wrong and support it when it does right. To those who never came back, to those who have come home scarred and wounded we say thank you which is not enough, but this american want to salute you.
A (belated) appreciation note ~ Yes, LOVE THE US MILITARY!! The Eagles honored them at the Eagles/Cowboys game on Sunday. Was privileged to hear a retired Vet sing a stirring soulful national anthem (brought me to tears) Every branch of the Military held onto and unfolded a giant 100x50 feet flag that spanned across the field (Dallas's kicker had no clue it was unfolding and was seconds from being enveloped under..he grabbed his ball and bolted as the flag chased him! :smt005) Thrilled as four (sonic) military jet fighters flew over the stadium, and enjoyed the Marines perform their awesome and haunting Silent gun/rifle Display. Enjoyed a live-feed of excited military Eagles fans in Afghanistan who assembled to watch the game with the fans...and they sang the Eagles fight song, which was very cute. But the BEST part was honoring our hometown vets -- one who took IED shrapnel while shielding his fellow soldiers. He was so happy to be at the game, cheering like crazy. :smt109 Also spotlighted was a military wife and her kids whose husband was away in Afghanistan serving..... the Eagles Organization with the Military SURPRISED her by having him walk onto the field to greet her and their kids! It was incredibly touching. Lots of tears. I love America, I love our Military!
