What are your dating "rules"?

Just curious or are you easy going like me and really have none? I just go with gut feelings and try not to overthink it.

I ask because I was talking to a good friend of mine and said so ........who are you dating now? He started talking about his latest love interest who just the week before became his ex.

He said she had a "rule" that she didn't have sex with anyone before they had been out on 11 dates. To me it seemed odd. And why is 11 the magic number? He decided she had too many rules (this wasn't her only rule) that made her seem like she had a super high opinion of herself and not really interested in anything other than having men foot the bill for her fun.

I was just curious to see if this is the norm. Maybe I need to get a set of rules.

 

11 dates? She probably just made that one up while talking to him. How stupid. How can u put a number on giving up the booty? . I'm pretty sure phone conversations count as dates too

I dont have any rules, I just go w the flow.
All relationships have different dynamics and thus have to be treated differently imo.

 

Geek she has been married prior, is in her 30's and has two kids. I told him maybe it's like being revirginized if you have that long hold out.

For me personally, I don't like to put limits on dating cause each person and every scenario is different. I take each dude on a case by case basis.

 

If she's over 18, and doesn't receive a senior citizen discount at Denny's - the sky's the limit...

 

My only dating rule is that she have at least one vagina and / or breast. Dating is already difficult enough.

No rules for me. No two people are the same, so why expect to apply a strict set of rules to everyone? Besides, like I've got time to be sittin' around coming up with rules in the first place.

I work with a woman who was back on the dating scene at 38, with child, divorced and she decided (after she'd already given it up to her boyfriend) that she was going to hold out until marriage.

Not sure how she expects to be that age and not give a man sex before marriage.

She's now 40 and single with no dating prospects.

I don't have any rules. I'm with the others, every person is different and each relationship has its own dynamic. However, if I'm serious about knowing more about a guy, I won't give it up on the first date. So, I guess that in and of itself is a rule. :smt042
