What was Travis Henry thinking?!?

Someone posted this on another topic but I had to create a separate subject on its own.

Just as I believe my fellow brothers could not shock me I learn that this NFL player Travis Henry has 9 kids by 9 different mothers. What was he thinking???

First with Mr. Henry himself, the child support will take atoll on him way past his days as a NFL running back, I see him living on the streets within 5 years after he retires.

Second, the mothers of his children, unless they meet an understanding man I don't see them getting married not without losing child support from Mr. Henry. It take an amazing man to take care of another man's child.

Third the kids, imagine what Father's Day will be at the Travis Henry household.

    It boggles the mind.

    clears up a lot...

I didn't know who this guy was...

nothing is wrong with having a big family...especially when you're a pro athlete, who can afford them, or whatever..

    but with 9 different women..

    that's pretty strange...

    condoms????

It really doesn't matter how many of those women are white, it's still an irresponsible act.

Dude will probably be pushing yay when his career is over in about 7 or 8 years - honestly, unlike NBA or MLB players, NFL players do not have long careers for obvious reasons.

nfl players don't be making as much dough either...

nba ballas like lebron, be getting all kinds of sneaker deals, rediculous astronomical salaries, etc..

that's why TO's bi*cha$$ was crying about wanting more money..

if he wanted to make real l00t, he shoulda played b-ball...

oh and yeah....if i took knee and chest hits all day, everyday, I wouldn't be lasting too long either, lol..

    Exactly, petty.

If you check the annual Forbes list of top earning athletes, you can be rest assured that NBA stars like Kobe, Bron, T-Mac and Shaq will be there. And not just in America, in the world. I mean, these guys compete with European soccer plays who get so much cheddar you won't believe it.

However, a guy like Tom Brady or Peyton Manning doesn't even cut it with NFL players. To the best of my recollection, only Michael Vick - of course before "dog-gate" - consistently appeared amongst the helm and that was because of his ridiculously enormous $130 million contract.

However, we do have to take into consideration that NFL players get a lot of signing bonuses which other athletes don't get.

I've always thought NFL players get the short end of the stick. The NFL generates more revenue than just about any other sport......the players take more punishment than athletes in other sports...yet their compensation doesn't match. It's kind of sad considering that every collision that NFL players have is equivalent to a car crash. Think about top running backs like L.T. or Adrian Peterson....they carry the rock...20-25 times per game....it's crazy.

Plus their "union" is beholden to the owners. Take for example the former players who retired. When those head injuries kick in it is not a joke.

Very true.....they have the weakest union of the major sports. Part of the problem is that the NFL is all about marketing teams moreso than individuals. The players don't really have "the juice"....it's about the great franchises like the Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys.

Until recently....I think most casual fans wouldn't be able to identify 10 NFL players if they walked right past them.

I've always been a fan of football..

    but shieet..

I find it funny when rugby players tease regular football players, for wearing protection...

even with the protection, playas still get broke the fuk up...

so imagine how fuk'd up those rugby players are, after years of playing that...

Rugby players are tough, but the difference between the two sports is that there are very few if any 6'5" 350 lb. rugby players. Offensive and defensive lineman in the NFL who tip the scales at 300 lbs. are the norm.

And the NFL players almost get what they deserve when they continue to elect Gene Upshaw as their director when he clearly has done a poor job during his tenure. I remember the congressional hearing on the hurrdles imposed on former players to recieve health benefits. Gene Upshaw sat with the commissioner (and on the side of the owners) in direct opposition to current and former players.
