I thought it would be fun to read and maybe discuss:
If you could change ONE thing in the following areas, what would you change and why?

    1) The World today

    2) Your personal life (job, family etc.)

    3) A personal trait

    Chigirl, interesting thread.

    1. About the world i would change the divide through race. In my mind we're all brothers...and sisters, and i can't stand the fact that we're always pitted against each other all the time. When i see a white man, i'd like to be able to call him my brother, and mean it....but for some reason the world just isn't that way. We're all just men and women beneath the differing skin colors, and hair textures, and eye shapes, and nose lengths, etc.... Typical answer i know, but it gets on my nerves, and i'd like it if everybody could be considered equals for a change.

    2. Something about my personal life that i would change is the way that i always have my priorities backwards. I put things first that should be second, or third, or even last, and even though i'm fully aware of that fact, i keep on doing it anyway for some reason. For instance, even though i have a LOT going for me as a young man, i can't help but to prioritize having a family and a meaninful relationship, moreso than having a successful career. Having a family should be priority number one a few years down the line for me, but for some reason it's on the forefront of my mind right "now," and i'm not sure why. I desperately want somebody to take care of, and somebody to depend on me for things. I always seem to do much better that way.

When the only person whose depending on me is "me," i tend to slack off, and not do so well, because i'm not motivated by the fact that somebody needs me to do well. It's really weird. Most of the time i just push through this, and try and ignore it, but i have to admit that even though i'm succeeding in school, and averaging higher than a 3.5 gpa each and every semester, i can't help but feel terribly empty and alone a lot of the time. I also put some things before God and i know that i shouldn't, so that's also something that i have to work on. When i'm straight with God, that empty feeling dimishes about 75 percent, but i think that the other 25 percent in my heart is set aside for a family of my own one day. Family and God are the two most important things that i want out of life, but society tries to tell me that my career and my individual success are the most important things. When i have those two things, i'll truly be happy, i know it.

    3. And lastly, a personal trait that i'd love to change is my self-consciousness. I tend to magnify my flaws to the greatest extent possible, and it gets on my nerves. I would definitely change that if i could.

I love thought provoking, philisophical questions like these:

    1) The world needs an enema. I would flush it out completely the way God saw fit to in the days of Noah. I wouldn't kill everyone but wipe their faces clean. I believe in my heart of hearts that the majority of problems that we face today come from a feeling of entitlement that many people in the world share. Rather it be an entitlement to freedom, land, supremacy, oil. I would force the world to subscribe to the golden rule: Do unto others, etc.

    2) I would find a woman and fall in love. I love my job and my social life is quite fulfilling. The only thing missing is a beautiful woman to share it with. I would also forgive my father. I would find him and tell him that I forgive him for all the horrible things he did to me. I would do this to free myself from the bondage of hate that I often feel trapped in.

    3) I would correct my constant need to be heard. It's quite annoying at times even to me. I'm not the type of person to just let things die. I don't like to argue but I love to debate. If I have a point I will drive it home by any means necessary. I've found that it gets me into trouble more than not.

    Good post Chigirl!!

    1) The World today
to be honest.. I'd love to remove every racists on this earth.. by some greater power, etc...

    2) Your personal life (job, family etc.)
I'd like my mom in my life.. and my dad Cancer free..
I'd like to have the love of my life in my life.. treating me right and letting me do the same for him

    3) A personal trait
I'd like to be smarter when it comes to sharing information about myself

Thanks for posting y'all. I loved reading your answers.

Bryant, you seem to know yourself well and I am sure all will fall into place just like it's supposed to. Believe me it's something I have learned in my life, no matter how much we fuss and worry about something things will fall into place the way they were meant....

OK, let me answer as well

    1. What I would love the see is for the world religions to actually practice what they preach and be open minded towards other religions and the fact that life and people evolve. Basically I want a progressive World Church... that sounds good, if I was a practicing christian I would start it he he he. There is to much hatred, ignorance, righteousness and guilt tripping going on, all under the clout of religion or someone's interpretation thereof. I believe that no matter who it is you believe in humans were meant to love each other without conditions, without the moral high horse, without the righteousness going on right now.

    2. Well right now the biggest thing on my mind is getting my green card. I have been waiting for 2 years now, application has been filed and NOTHING... I am allowed to work and all but I am not allowed to work outside of Illinois so I can't move plus I need to stay with my current company since they sponsor me. I have no plans of leaving my employer, it's a good company and I like my job a alot.... I just don't like to depend on them like that.

    3. The one issue I am struggeling with is being upfront and honest with a guy once I care about him, I have a hard time expressing my feelings and my expectations which consequently leads to some sort of disappointment on my side and complete surprise on his side since he "didn't see THAT one coming". It's rather unfair towards the guy and not very healthy, I am working on it... WISH ME LUCK ;-)
