I'm here! Nice to see I was missed. :D I've been spending less time on the computer and more time outdoors, with the nicer weather. When I get away from the computer, I never want to get to back on!

Well the only other message board I go to on a regular basis http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/ has rude and nasty people taking over now, so my recent message board experiences haven't been great. I have to realize that all message boards aren't that bad - this board is like a bunch of saints compared to that board of bitches. It hasn't always been that bad, but lately people are jumping on each other for any little thing that hints on controversy. If you want a good laugh, go to the non-hair discussion part of that board. I know I shouldn't care, but it makes me sick how people feel they can treat one another just because they aren't face to face. I want to like get a group of people together to join there just to create chaos on the board. Any volunteers?

    Hi all,

Thanks designer, I like what you're about too. :)

I didn't mean to just go, I almost lost my husband to a doctor screw up, in a big way, in Feb, he has just returned to work this past week.

It was a routine endoscopy gone horribly, horribly wrong. To say it has been a nightmare doesn't convey the abject terror.

    I was almost widowed twice.

Through the grace of God goes us....

So I'll be a lurking and a readin' and throwing in my two cents whether politically correct or no! As i do :D

    Wow!
I'm glad you and your old man made it!!
You know, that's why some folks don't go to the doctor like they should...
But again, I am glad you and your family are okay. :D

It's been “fun” around here as I believe there is some “who should and who shouldn't” be here vibe a brewing. Some of the posting have made me rethink what some people are all about, but I believe we have a good forum with a diverse group of people and rightfully so!

I welcome you back to the madhouse!!!!!

Well there is always drama on the boards.....makes things interesting :D

And my hubby is the kind of person who won't even take tylenol.

He was having some bad stomache pains, I thought he had an ulcer. I had to BEG and NAG to get him to go to the doctor. Something I rarely do on principle.

The day he went he says to me, "you know, I am only doing this for you."

Imagine how I felt when the doctor screws up and almost kills him, only 25% make it through what happened to him. He was unconscious for 2wks on a respirator, 2 more in the hospital, he gets a blood clot which almost does him in again...he is blessed.

It has been really hard, he has just returned to work this past week doing half days. We still have a long way to go. He is skeletal, he used to be huge, muscular, it is a constant reminder to me just how sick he was. So I have been shoving food down his throat right and left...I swear he's like a woman worrying over his looks, not happy at all that his muscle mass is just....gone.....better that I say than the alternative!!

    Thanks Bmanz,

Your good thoughts are truly appreciated in a way I couldn't have known before this saga, glad to be back! :smt001

It's verra strange to be in that position. You realize just how much your partner means to you, all the little things they do in the relationship that once you took for granted. Even the dumb stuff like having to take out the garbage!

It was really freaky having to make life and death decisions about him without being able to ask him what he thought.

But I have definitely have come through this a changed and stronger woman. Trial by fire, now I know what I am capable of.

I know, it has been tested, and so far we made it!

That's always the way it is, isn't it?
The good thing is he is okay and on the track to getting better and your relationship can grow deeper because of it.

    BTW speaking of growth,
My fat ass is getting fatter by the day so if he needs to know how to become a fat tub of goo...
    Let me know.

LOL Designer, a tub of goo...lordy....

Ya know there is something to be said for a guy who isn't completely muscled, ya know?

I remember when I first met B, he was a gym rat and used to take creatin so his muscles where hard as rocks. I didn't like it. You couldn't pinch any fat on him anywhere but then again he wasn't comfy to snuggle up to either.

I missed the feel of some fat. yeah I know, sounds strange but true. Give me a guy with some definition and a layer of fat over it and I am in heaven. Gives you something soft to snuggle against.

After the first was born and his life shifted from single endeavors to family, the gym going fell off and with my good cooking (LMAO) I got him right where I wanted! LOL...

Now his physical is changed. He'll never get that muscle back unless he starts lifting weights again, something I just don't see happening but I am content, just as long as the skeletal look goes away!

You wanna get rid of your goo, stay in bed for a month and have a liquid diet! You'll be thin in no time!

It feels good to be able to joke.......
