white privilege.. i havent heard that since 2000, when a white professor of mine was explaining to the class (more like reminding, for me), that such a factor exists..

we were reading a book, with different articles written by different people; one of them being a white male, who was comparing himself to a distinguished black male. He mentioned that because of society, he felt 'superior and better' than this black guy, who was highly distinguished in his field, whose accomplishments superseded that of the white guy's.

fascinating stuff.

I really should be lifting, but i'm curious to listen to what this guy has to say about the issue (yes i post without actually watching the videos first )

I watched one of his 1hr videos, and love his rationale which explains why really crazy incidents like 'Columbine' happen

 

I haven't sat for an independent lecture since '01, but I would sit for one with this guy. He's worth listening to and definitely makes you feel a bit better, knowing that there are white people that are just as sharp, and see through the bullshit, like a black person (and are willing to admit it).

There was an old thread about this sometime ago.

I had to read a paper on White privilige in uni for a society class. It was a really good paper that made me stop and think about very simple things that I took for granted everyday. I will see if I can find it and post it again.

I warn you....it is a looooooooooooooong paper but well worth the read.

Not only Wise said it but Andrew Hacker in his book years back. It is so true and what those White conservatives and their Houseslaves who say the opposite are full of it.

 

It does sadly exist. I made damn sure I taught my kids that it is out there and they should NEVER use it.
