getting a job(or getting accepted to a school)when you're not as qualified as your counterparts through affirmative action, or getting help from the UNCF (you heard of this right..pretty sure they're not doling out money to white boys)to assist you with college payments, is Black Privilege.

Privileges exist on both sides of the fence, technically.

I tried to qualify for UNCF $$$ and its damn near impossible. You have to be in the most extreme circumstances to qualify.

you'll still get it (along with other minority-based fundings) quicker than the average white guy (who has had no part, in constructing the current disposition of african-americans) applying for it.

As a minority, it's good to know that there are programs out there, that are to help us get on equal footing; at the same time however, it doesn't help the average white person, that's also struggling to get ahead in life.

Myself, I never tried to get assistance from the UNCF, but if i were smart, I damn sure would have tried, among the other avenues. They're there for a reason, which we can't ignore. The road to such properties was paved in the cliched 'blood, sweat, and tears.'

Black privilege is getting more advantages than whites. So far, that has not happened.

In the fantasy of Black privilege,White cops give Black men a pass when they drive their BMW's and other autos, cabs stop for well dressed Blacks,Prince George's Co MD real estate is better than Beverly Hills, and the Jack and Jill Clubs has a long waiting list.

Chris Rock explains it perfectly in one of his skits on his White privilege:

"I'm a millionaire and no White man would ever trade places with me."

He said something along the lines of that. If you read Soul on Ice by Eldridge Cleaver, he explains the White privilege system and how it is designed for them to benefit. Sure, things have gotten better for p.o.c, but at the end of the day White people do get benefits that other non-White individuals will never be able to experience.

Rodney King -- Video tapped evidence of him being beaten by the LAPD. Yet, there was so no "evidence" to prove any crime was being committed. If this were a White man would the same have happened?

Yusef Hawkins -- Shot to death in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn (notorious for years for being a racist neighborhood) because he was "not supposed to be here." The individuals who murdered Yusef were given slaps on the wrist (if you look online, you will see that they were given petty sentences such as community service). If the roles were reversed, and a Black man shot a White man -- he'd be in the gas chamber so quickly you wouldn't even know what happened to him.

I could go on and on...

Read Soul on Ice by Eldridge Cleaver!

Ive read Soul on Ice, but I would hardly hold it up as a great example of how any system works. Eldridge Cleaver wrote that while in prison. He was a rapists, a very sick individual. It really is a shame.

Read it for the experience, but never forget whos opinion it is or how it came to be.

well I didn't know Chris Rock was the definitive 'source,' for social commentary and privilege philosophy (this guy is a rich celeb, lecturing people on 'privilege,' lol). I know plenty of non-black guys that would trade places with a black millionaire. Some of these guys wear those replica football jerseys with 'McNabb' or 'Strahan' or 'Owens' written on the back of it.
