The story is odd to me only because after this couple adopted a Black and biracial child, the wife 'convinced' her husband she wanted to have children of her own, except she wanted a BLACK MAN to be the sperm donor and not her husband.:smt104

I understand their rationale in that they wanted all their children to be able to relate racially, but come on.

So what's the big deal about them as a married couple producing biological children of their own???

I think her husband at some point is going to resent the fact she didn't want to have HIS kids regardless of the race of his adopted children.

If someone had told me this story and I didn't know it really happened, I would have thought it was some bizarre cuckold fantasy.


IMO there's more going on with this dude's wife psychologically than she's telling him.

Husband looks suspect as hell. Way too many predators out doing shit like this and adopting kids for their monstrous pleasure. I sincerely hope they have these kids best interest in mind.

I find it a bit unsettling.

The adoption arena has all sorts of different people involved with all sorts of different motives. There are those who get into a weird sort of fad/obsession with acquiring children. There are also those who get a lot of odd attention and accolades from other white people for adopting black children. Some people get really sucked into that and want more and more of it.

If this particular couple is really about providing a loving home to children who truly need that home, why would they go the "embryo adoption" route? It's one thing to adopt children when there is a shortage of adoptive parents. I just have to wonder if there is a shortage of infertile black or interracial couples wanting those embryos. But the issue is that the "embryo adoption" situation is very different, and my understanding is that these are religious based organizations (for the most part) that are dealing with "embryo adoption". They do things their own way and are not as regulated as the adoption world. The adoption world has it's own issues, to be sure.

The legal system and medical ethics are behind when it comes to fertility technology.

 

That's not the situation. You must not have read the article. They "adopted" embryos that had already been created, frozen, and were unwanted by the biological parents.

The triplets are not biologically the husband OR the wife.

 

Oh, my mistake. That does make a big difference in this story.
So they basically 'adopted' Black embryos.
