I'm just wondering how can we tell if people are posting on this site because they have an interest in IR relationships or if they are out to disrupt the flow. I see "new" members coming in and posting some of the most hateful stuff. I don't mean the "normal" misunderstandings that happen when people from all over the world and life, try to communicate with a group people. I still see myself as new here but I think some people are coming in, and I think they have anti-interracial agendas.
on another site I used to frequent we would have people pop in out of the blue and say the most incredible hateful bs, which we would delete immediately, but they definitely got people worked up by pressing ALLL the buttons. I think they're like pyromaniacs...start the fire then watch the fireworks.
That's why I think real communication is key here. Real communication that's just a tad more than the "big dick" and "fucking white bitches" stuff we get from some of our regulars. I think we have something good here [if we make it that way]. There are "yo-yo's" out there that would love to close this site and lock us up behind bars. I don't plan on playing into their hands.
without a doubt. I think a lot of us can get behind some real communications, anyway, when you talk about people you like in terms of rough stereotypes, it just perpetuates the idea that there are all these "differences" when it should be more about how we are alike. my 47 cents.
If 2 US cents equals 47 Canadian cents, I may need to do my shopping up there. 8) You do hit the nail on the head in your reply Crystal. Good deal.
Regarding Who Is Who In my case, I am not white or black. I am actually Native American. I live in Florida and just looked up the forum because the issues confronting black/white relationships seem to be similar to issues with Native Americans dating/intermarrying with whites. Most Native Americans are already part white and usually don't look "Native" (i.e. Burt Reynolds, Heather Locklear). Some isolated reservations (like mine) still have Indians with brown complexions and speak the language. I thought the thread with Hispanic/Black tension in LA was rather ironic since most Mexicans are part West African. In the south, I have gotten approached by blond white women who appear to be conservative Baptists. I'll probably be in an "interracial" relationship again in the near future. This usually happens in the gym when I workout. There are lots of "interracial" relationships in FL. In regards to black/white dating, the pressure must have been a lot worse for Jack Johnson around 90-100 years ago. I did read the book about his boxing career and athletic accomplishments.
A few things..... When I wrote "Who's Who?" I was writing about people coming into this forum and posting anti-IR messages. At the time I was thinking about Blackpimpwali [I think that's his name] because of the way he wrote and the things he said, I thought it was some white frat guy!!! I'm still not 100% sure but... As far as you not being black means nothing to me [ and I don't mean that in a nasty or disrespectful way]. Most black people in America have either Native or white or both in their blood so race is really more of a political thing anyway. My grandmother on my mothers side was Native American but if you look at me you'll see "black guy" and that's what I am. Some people will tell you that they are this, that and the other [like Tiger Woods] and that's fine but to me it's how you see yourself at the end of the day. Issues of race and race mixing will always cause some people problems but knowing that people are people, makes the problem not as big as it once was, in my mind. I have no issue with who you are. And as much as I think this site is needed, I really wish that was not the case.
