Here’s a link to an article by the wall street journal:
    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121856786326834083.html

I used to be Democrat before turning Republican. I’m “free” from the racist Democratic Party. Don’t be ignorant, vote Republican and Independent sometimes.:p

    Have a nice day,

That link was pretty interesting reading, was shocked about the Al Gore link to the clan it makes you wonder if there are any people in cabinet who have been brought up around that enviroment.

Ultimately though it should be about the best person for the job in these hard times, i hope the democrats actually do something now in power and that Obama was not just a front man for winning?

Lets see him walk the walk.

My thing about politics is that with a population of 300 million, I would doubt that only the 2 parties, (different sides of the same coin) represent the overall political views of the population. It sounds like political strong arming to me. But in order to keep some friends, I stay away from politics and religion.

I'm an independent, not a Democrat and thats because i don't want to be entrenched by either party. They do not represent the electorate, but the lobbyists and special interests that put them in power in the first place.

I agree with that. They're are many views in this country and they don't get represented by the two major parties. I really wish the debates would let other parties in. It's a shame

That article is so ridiculous that I won't even bother to waste my time taking it apart line by line. It's really a shame that Rupert Murdock was allowed to take over the Wall Street Journal.

If you want to know how the base of the Republican party really feels about black people, go to You Tube and search for video footage of McCain/Palin rallies. I don't understand how any self-respecting black person can feel solidarity with those loons. You should also take note of how quickly the de facto leader of the Republican party, Rush Limbaugh, and the other Conservative opinion makers threw the purportedly well-respected Republican elder, Colin Powell, under the bus and dismissed him as an affirmative action incompetent who abandoned all reason to support another hapless black man simply because he was also black when Powell presented his well-reasoned endorsement of Obama and criticized the current state of the Republican party.

    For the record, I'm a left-leaning independent.

I never supported Mccain! Mccain was weak to tell those stupid racist Republicans to shut up at his rallies. That's why he lost the election. In every party there are racists. You can't stop racists in joining your party. David Duke ran as a Democrat for governor in the south and later as a Republican. He lost both times. Most of the GOP loves black people. There is only a few Republicans who bring down the whole party. The Republican Party is becoming diverse with Latino, White, Indian, Asian, Arab, Black, and so on.
I'm proud to be a Black Republican!

P.S: Most Republicans are middle class and somewhat poor. They don't want higher taxes because they can barely pay their bills since the economy tanked. Obama has millions of dollars in his pockets. And he wants tax more like Clinton. The sad part is i voted for Obama for the heck of it.

Look, I would point out that Obama is going to cut taxes for people making less than $250,000 a year, a demographic that accounts for the vast majority of Americans and the all of the "middle class" if such a thing still exists in this country, but what's the fucking point? People like you will believe whatever you want to with regards to the taxation issue.

Taxes MUST be raised on the wealthy and corporations. We're in dire straits. First off, under the current system, many are not paying any taxes to begin with. Secondly, we need to do something about the deficit, our worthless currency and the crumbling infrastructure in this country or there are going to be serious consequences. Honestly, what don't you understand about this?

    You know what...never mind.

As for the diversity of the Republican party, I suggest you study some demographic data from the exit polls in the last two elections. The party is quickly becoming nothing but an enclave for white, evangelical southerners who vote consistently against their economic interests because of their religious fanaticism and/or racism and the millionaires/billionaires who don't believe that they should pay their fair share for government services that they benefit from like everyone else.

How long have you been in the OC man? I think the crazy might be rubbing off on you.

i know i saw the exist polls too. But most white female and male republicans find other races somewhat exotic and they love me and they will love you too if you go talk to them, but Not with the fake Christians Republicans. Once they get to know you they will like you!

The OC is full of white retards. most of the companies here are owned by foreigners and the whites work for them. The OC is full people who worship money and not God by the way. The OC is full fake people.

WOW! That is sad. I know the democratic party has not historically supported blacks, I do feel Obama may be their puppet. I don't think they are currently racist, but I did not vote for Obama, even though I like him as a person, and would love to see us have a black president.

Christian Republicans do not hate people of any race. Not if they are true Christians. I am one, and I love blacks and whites and browns and yellows and if I meat a purple I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

I will NEVER vote for someone who will promote abortion! If McCain and been "pro choice" I would have written someone in. I would not have voted for Obama.

In other words if you believe that the democrats are racist, yet you voted for one, You are a sell out. Sorry! That's the definition of Sell out. Not standing by your convictions!:smt017

The abortion debate always brings to my mind the song "Femme Fetal" by Digable Planets.

    ...
hey beautiful bird i said digging her somber mood
the fascists are some heavy dudes
they don't really give a damn about life
they just don't want a woman to
control her body or have the right to choose
    but baby that ain't nothin
they just want a male finger on the button
because if you say war they will send them to die by the score
aborting mission should be your volition
but if Souter and Thomas have their way
you'll be standing in line unable to get welfare while they're out
    hunting and fishing
it has always been around it will always have a niche
but they'll make it a privelege not a right
    accessible only to the rich
    pro-lifers should dig themselves
cause life doesn't stop after birth
and to a child borne to the unprepared
it might even just get worse
supporters of the h-bomb and fire bombing clinic
what type of shit is that? orwellian in fact
if roe v wade was overturned would not the desire remain intact
leaving young girls to risk their healths
and doctors to botch and watch as they kill themselves
i don't want to sound macabre
but hey, isn't it my job
to lay it on the masses and get them off their asses
    to fight against these fascists
so whatever you decide make that move with pride
sid will be there (ladybug will be there, doodlebug will be there)
    and so will i
    an insect til i die
    rhythms and sounds
    spinning around
    confrontations
    across the nation
    your block
    my block
    dreadlocks
    what a shock
land of the free - but not
    me

Do you really think more people have died in Iraq since the war started than would have died under Sadam Husein? I don't agree with war either, but what Sadam did was way out of line!!!

Is that a serious question? The lowest estimate for the total number of Iraqis killed since 2003 is about 250,000. The Lanset study from 2006 placed the death toll at over 655,000, and that was two years ago. Many people believe there have been over a million Iraqis killed since the invasion. Not to mention the four million Iraqis who have been displaced internally because of the violence and ethnic cleansing, and the one million Iraqis who have fled the country altogether. Many of whom are languishing in refugee camps in Syria and Jordan where they have no status as legal residents, and their only means of survival in many cases is prostituting their women and children to rich Saudis who come across the border to party.

Hussein was a murderous thug, but he never wreaked anywhere near the kind of havoc that has been seen in Iraq since the US invaded. It's practically verboten to say this during any political discussion in this country, but the sobering truth is that the vast majority of Iraqis were better off before the war. I'm not saying they all led pleasant lives, but a good deal of them were still alive.

    :?:

By "historically", you mean before the mid-1960s when LBJ, Democrat, pushed for the Civil Rights Act, and most of the conservative Southern Democrats became Republicans? Right?

I was tempted to write something about abortion rights, but those arguments never turn out well.

The head of Plan Parenthood, another Repub Wacko hiding behind God. Asked his followers to pray that God send rain on the DNC convention,WTH. Instead of this fool ask them to pray for something important, like The economy, ending the war, stopping the murder rate, et'al. He used his position to manipulate the spiritual resources of his followers to pray about crap. The followers will always be lead. Politics has never liberated anyone.

Actually, it was Focus on the Family who exhorted their members to pray for rain during Obama's acceptance speech in Denver at the end of the Democratic convention. Very Christian of them. :smt083
