Aren't we glad God doesn't answer prayers that are meant for selfish reasons.

Such idiots wouldn't do any harm in power, they wouldn't accomplish anything at all!

I should have said do you think more Iraqi's have been killed by the US, than by Sadam Husein. The idiots who are doing the killing are doing it because they can, not because we are there. If we leave they will continue, and it may get worse. I have spoken with many soldiers who tell me that the Iraqi people are glad we are there.

And by the way, some people would rather die than live under certain types of leaders. Thats what we did in America, we fought a war because Freedom was worth it. Even if we died in the attempt.

If we hadn't gone in, the vast majority of those people would still be alive. As for the Iraqis who want the Americans to stay, it depends on which ones you're talking about. The Kurds (who have achieved autonomy over the North including the oil fields) like us. The Sunni sheiks in Anbar who are being bribed with cash and weapons don't mind our presence for the time being; however, the Shiite majority, whether they are Maliki loyalists or Sadrists, want us gone as soon as possible.

I think the theory that we have to stay to in Iraq in order to prevent large scale violence is flawed. Don't get me wrong, I know there will be bloodshed when our forces pull out, but a lot of ethnic cleansing has already taken place, and the various ethnic groups are rigidly now segregated from each other due to millions of people being involuntarily displaced during the violence.

Regardless, the occupation is going to have to end sooner rather than later
because this country is on the verge of bankruptcy, and we simply cannot afford to continue the war.

True, we are on a verge of bankruptcy because we are in an never-ending war. Saddam was an evil guy who allowed his sons to have rape rooms. Saddam was a bad guy anyway, but the war could have gone in a better direction than it is now. I support Obama pulling out of Iraq because the Iraqi people are helping the terrorists in Iraq rather than us. So sad.

What is a sellout working hard and not asking for handouts? Having moral values? Feeling that if you do a crime you should go to jail?
Alan Keyes actually said that blacks should get payed back for hardships suffered from slavery.

It's apparent to me that you fuckers are babies and don't know shit. Go off and get some hair on your chest, read some black history, take a few hard knocks, quit regurgitating Republican talking points/what you heard on Limbaugh, for God's sake don't invoke Alan Keyes' name in any serious conversation, then we can seriously talk politics.

There's an old saying about casting pearls before swine. That applies here.

Hey, people can have whatever views they want to. I'm libertarian. That's what I believe in. If others have a problem with it, too bad

The GOP could not get one of their house slaves elected dogcatcher. After Watts and Franks left Congress there only brothers in state wide office but, they don't last long. Obama put the Democrats to the top and the GOP a party of losers who don't know what the Blacks want.

I tried the "conservative" route, but it didn't do a damn thing for me. I guess at the time, I had a point that I wanted to make. Although I'm not a flaming leftist, I'm just amazed at how blind some of these people are. I consider myself moderate, but I do at least have sense enough to know what's going on.

Like someone here mentioned, Barack ain't the president of Detroit, Harlem, Watts, South Central, etc... He's the POTUS. That includes 'Middle America' and it wasn't just Black America (only 12% of the population) who put him in office. I am skeptical of some of his policies and ideas, but he is my President. We shall see what the next 4 years bring us.

    As far as the GOP...well...

Larry Elder is better than Rush Limbaugh. I met Larry Elder in L.A in 2006. Both our dads grew up doing the jim crow law era and they both went to college when they got the chance to make a better life for themselves. Larry's Dad is a Republican too because he owns a Resturant in south central LA at the age 40 (he is currently in his 70's) and wanted a pro-business government. That's why Larry Elder is a Republican and so am I.

Flaming leftist? Never heard that before, but it made me laugh!

I prefer to call people who are either very far right or very far left as "raging" Republicans or Democrats. My parents are raging Republicans. My sister and brother-in-law are raging democrats. I'm a moderate. I vote for the person who I think will do the best job for this country, no matter what party he or she represents.
