Republicans want it both ways. When they're losers, they cry that no minorities support them. When they're on top, they don't reach out to them. I'm talking about the electorate not certain elite Blacks like Powell or Condi. Tony Soprano has asked many times on this board what benefits there are to Blacks being Republican yet none of the resident conservative buck-dancers can answer him.
I don't see the point you're trying to make. Are you saying that they should have had minorities in the group?
I'm thinking that they don't want to answer me because they have no clue or they know exactly what it is but they're afraid to tell me. It really reminds me of when I was a little boy and I'd ask my parents where babies come from.:smt003 I'm not even trying to be intrusive, I believe that I have every right to know and if they were to try to persuade me I would have a right to know why.
My mum told me I was a test-tube baby and my dad told me he got me and my sister 2 for the price of 1 at the "99p store". I wish they just stuck to the stork story. It confused my little mind. That was off topic :smt080
Hey this guy looks like a brainiac I once new who chose to fry his brain on drugs. Then his wife got an abortion because she didn't want to raise his kid and she divorced him and he ended up on the street. Sorry, He made his own choices. I'll help out, and donate to the Salvation Army.
:smt017 After the past eight years do you get the impression that the Republicans care about anyone but the rich and corporations? I understand leaving the Democratic party because you feel disenchanted or ignored, but why become a Republican? Why not a Libertarian or a Green or an Independent? I'm sorry. That's just bizarre. Not only will the Republicans take you for granted, most of them are up front about the fact that they despise you.
Yeah, except, unfortunately, none of the "lesser" parties can get anywhere in this country. It blows. We're a 2 party country. Not much to choose from.
Okay, still waiting for someone to tell me as a black man why I should become a republican, what the benefits to being a republican are, and what exactly does "country first" really mean?:smt105 How could someone just abandon his own thread when asked very simple questions pertaining to it?
Nope, and I don't think that I ever will. For a guy like V777 who is trying to tell us blacks why we should be republicans, he sure is doing a very shitty job of selling his party. He either knows full well what the answers to these questions are, or he has no clue himself. It's not the answers to these questions that has become the mystery, it's why he is taking so long to come up with an adequate response or if he even has one. Why should blacks be republicans? What are the pros and cons to being a republican? What does "Country First" mean? What do you all have to hide?
Bush wasn't the Christian he should have been. I believe things would have been much better now in the US. Go read about Biblical leaders such as David, Simpson, Salomo, and King Saul (before he turned his back on God) After this you will see what I mean. I will even agree if you might say than Bush has done nothing to stop abortion other then blocking stem cell research. John McCain as I heard was also pro choice. So you see your leaders don’t hold the believes and honesty in "In God We Trust" as the founding fathers of the US did. I will stick my head out and say that if you’re political leaders will rely on God and His Word, America will be again be a force to be reckoned with. Neither does it seems that President-elect Obama are. He and his crew are relying on their intelligence and this is not going to help America getting out of her misery. Now that I come to think of it; somebody mentioned that the House and Senate were mostly represented by Democrats; if this is true, why is that Bush is the only person that gets blamed for the mess? Obama will have a much better support to work with since the Democrats will now have the majority in both the House and Senate... Let’s hope he can deliver, but hay he already started lowering expectations with his victory speech when he said it will not take one year or one term, but the Democrats eventually will get there. Maybe he was already campaigning for the next term. Clever politics?
DITTO- "But if my people will humble them selves and call on the name of the Lord I will heal their land..." Repentant people can also make a huge difference. That's an excellent question I can't seem to get a lot of liberals to answer!
Republicans controlled congress from 1998-2006 before Democrats gained control in 2006. But by then the die had been cast. During that period of republican control, phil gram would lead the charge for deregulation, which would lead to our current financial crisis. And w would take us to war in iraq, with the republican led congress' full support. (Yes there were democrats who voted for the war, and they are equally to blame.)
Oh, you mean while Clinton was in office? At least for the first part of that. :smt017 Actually, I agree that both parties are equally to blame, that's why we have a system set up the way it is, it brings in checks and balances.
