Reminds me of my aunt, now long deceased in her 90s. She taught kindergarten for many years, and then joined the Peace Corps when she retired. They sent her to Africa, and she was HORRIFIED to discover the place was full of foreigners! All those non American people all over the continent!!
It's not too far fetched, lol. I can remember a group of four us having coffee, OJ, and a pastry at the Four Seasons hotel in Manhattan. The total tab with tax was nearly $200.
Velkrum, I think it's just the way you come off to people. Your attitude rubs people the wrong way. I'm on the fence with some political issues but, people with your attitude make me lean the other way ( more liberal). You ask why everyone hates the Tea party, which I admit is not a bad question because; I've wondered that myself (but, I'm too lazy and not interesting in politics enough to research it myself admittedly). However you never seem to provide many details of why you feel the way you do, just smart-ass one-liners. Treepixie, is one of the most liberal people I've ever interacted with but, when she explains something, she does it in a intelligent and articulate way, that most people can understand. IMO you haven't done this at all, in most of your posts.
Was I rude to Treepixie in this thread ? Want details about me ? just ask. I intentionally keep my responses concise.
Why do you intentionally keep your responses concise when it clearly annoys and confuses people? Details: Do you wear socks when you're doing the deed? Do you like your mother? Are you circumcised? What do you do for a living? What's your favorite breakfast food? How much student loan debt do you have? What was the last book that you read? What is your social security number?
If they were concise, people wouldn't be accusing you of being otherwise. If you provide a concise answer, that's supposed to quell questions on your position, but it hasn't happened yet.
I never said you were rude to anyone, just trying to keep it real and, tell you how I feel. You can post any way you want, it's really not that big of a deal to me personally. You asked a question and wanted details and, that's cool. However, you just give people a bad feeling when you have posted in the past. I think that's why you're not getting the answers you want.
Easier to stay on topic Faster to read Easier to comprehend Easier to focus on a point Long responses are not efficient and often drift from the point Concise responses require the writer to be clear about what they are saying Do you wear socks when you're doing the deed? Do you like your mother? Are you circumcised? What do you do for a living? What's your favorite breakfast food? How much student loan debt do you have? What was the last book that you read? What is your social security number? Sometimes It's complicated no (but women tell me it looks like i am) professional illustrator / nutritionist / personal trainer / Student Egg whites $0 Memmler's, The Human Body in Health and Disease 11th Edition xxx - xx - xxxx Which questions have I not quelled ? woops my mistake. I don't need a long essay with multiple paragraphs to get my point across.
Simple personal observation: All these little things you listed above have aided in making you come across as an unfeeling antisocial programmed drone to the majority of people here. Put a bit of actual human personality in your posts if you truly want genuine interaction from/with people here because most of the people are putting their personalities/personal experiences in their responses. And clearly that's not meeting your personal expectations of what you view as "normal" behavior.
No. Just that he should be less standoffish and clinical in how he comes across on the forum and he might actually have more people willing to give him more positive interactions & responses to his postings because his current way of going about doing things definitely isn't working.
Here is a good reason not to support the Tea Party They want to tank the economy out of spite: Tea Party Pledges Not to Create Jobs Because Obama is President Once again, the tea party zealots are holding a gun to our economy. This time, they're demanding all small businesses go "on strike" and refuse to hire anyone, as a protest against President Obama. Even given their past dogmatism, it's a dumbfounding statement. They're asking businesses to sign an anti-job creating pledge posted on the website of Tea Party Nation, the group that featured Sarah Palin as its keynote speaker. It's a diatribe reminiscent of their refusal to compromise over the debt ceiling. And it's no joke. Tea partiers have made it perfectly clear they will do anything to prove their point. Remember that in the name of deficit reduction, they were ready to allow a federal default that economists warned would lead to economic catastrophe and massive job losses. This is unpatriotic. Using ugly tactics like these is not the American way. In order to get anything worthwhile done in politics, we need bipartisanship based on rational problem-solving. That takes a certain amount of goodwill and compromise, not just ideologues armed with high-stakes threats. It's not hard to see what national politics would become if we let this kind of hostage-taking rule the day. Tea partiers want to tank the economy just so Obama can be defeated. As joblessness soars and Americans suffer, they have other priorities on their minds. So if any small business owners take this pledge, we have a suggestion for its patrons: Boycott that business, and create a job at the competition.
WARNING : According to Velkrum Rules this response is too long and therefore not efficient and drifts from the point. Sorry. I couldn't pass up being a smart ass with this.
damn good article. need to get the word out on this one. how come the news isnt covering this one deeply
It's been covered a few places, but not much in depth. Being a cynic, I'm assuming that the fact that the media are owned by the same corporations which own the Tea Party plays into the coverage.
