I searched for the question and didn't find anything. Maybe everyone's just smarter than me, heh. I was just wondering, why subscribe to threads? I know what it means, I've read that much. Why do it though?
When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notifications of new replies to that thread. Setting options are: - Do not subscribe - No email notification * (this is the default) - Instant email notification - Daily email notification - Weekly email notification You can see the threads you're subscribed to or change your settings through your user control panel (User CP on the top menu). How you use it depends on personal tastes. Some prefer to manually browse all the topics and others are only interested in certain threads. You can also select "New Posts" from the top menu to read posts since you've last logged in. But basically it provides a way to keep track of the threads you've participated in to ensure you don't miss anything.
I subscribe to threads on other boards so that replies go to my email account as I do not check the board regularly. One of them is an Islamic thread and I want to be able to reply to new Sisters. Another one is a thread for free magazines. Magazines give away free subscriptions, but they limit the number so you got to be quick to get them when they do.
Thank you! Hm, I don't know if I'd want all that stuff blowing up my e-mail though. I'm part of another board and they must automatically subscribe you to whatever thread you replied/posted in, and I don't like that. I'm going to go check it out and experiment. Thanks!
