The cops also did that stupid shyt today. Why they expect to to respect them while they can't even respect the Mayor of the city. Wished they would be fired and turn in their badge and gun.
When was growing up in NYC, the NYPD (and their union leaders) were often making statements that they're professionals, and deserved respect. I think what they really want is not respect... They want people to be submissive to them, and of course for their actions to never be questioned. There's a slogan on the side of NYPD cruisers... CPR - Courtesy, Professionalism and Respect. I wish they came close to living up to that slogan. There's clearly so many bad apples, and I really feel for those officers who are good police officers. Their "brothers" who operate like they're above the law are bringing them down.
Not sure how old you are but you look to be about 50-ish? - curious, did you live through the 1970's 2000 murders a year era?
I believe it was in the late 70's, so it might have just been the beginning of the crack epidemic. I read the NYPD helped whittle it down to 300 murders a year, a feat not even Philly can pull off and we are 1/5 of NYC's population.
Well, the constituents have been asking that for years. I have been saying for years (on here, too) it's the *Y.O.R program, (which is a fancy label for a revolving door) ...because when you really look at the repeat offender numbers, it's often the same criminals creating the most crime, and thus holding the neighborhoods hostage. If Pookie or Billy-Bob keep showing up after they just got put away, it emboldens them as criminals to continue. NYC may have a more stringent approach towards offenders, which would translate to lower murder rates. *(prison overcrowding is the excuse, according to the police and the city)
Well murder victims don't pick their murderer's. And which part of "Billy Bob" in my post did you miss?
I don't think you are gunderstanding my point. The cops getting more white guys wont make crime fall because they system is set up to catch and release. Get it?
