EVERY day is women's day for me. 8)

 

how many holidays do women need? they already have valentines day and mothers day...what else do u need? now u want a day that celebrates the fact that u have a pussy? I guess this is the holiday for women that do not fit into valentines or mothers day (in other words, the ones without children and the single ones with no man). but then again what have these people done to deserve a holiday other than drive men nuts? and while were at it, why not give a holiday for men, call it MEN DAY!

 

That was uncalled for. The holiday isn't really that big of a deal to attack it like that. If women want a day give them a day. geez you don't have to trash it.

Yea, I sorta understand where Pey is coming from but I agree w/ angel. It's one day out of three hundred and sixty five days of the year. Just one. Haters need to chill. Now if it was women's month, that may have more room for scrutiny.

 

Well, no problem, I dunno what about your country - but in ours we have March 8 - Women's day - for all women and girls, and not matter whoever, of female sex, and also December 6 - Men's day (Ukrainian) and February 26 - men's day (Russian). Also for anybody of man's sex....
So, I think we have enough for everybody. ))

The way it was explained to me is that unlike Valentine's Day, which has an element of romance involved with it, Women's Day is just a day where everyone - friends, family, significant others and all - appreciate all women.

Yea Anya, a Russian girl I dated told me about woman's day over there and all that.But i thought u needed to DO SOMETHING SPECIAL in order to earn a holiday in your honor. We celebrate President's Day to honor presidents. We celebrate MLK day to honor Dr. King and what he did for civil rights. What do women do that needs to be celebrated. yes I know they raise kids and give birth and all that but men raise kids too, and there are plenty of women who have abortions and commit crimes and are awful mothers and employees who DO NOT deserve to be celebrated. And how can you honor on sex and not the other. That is why we do not have that here in America. Europeans are weird...

 

Hey Nuar, men's day in Russia is February 23 (Day of the Red Army), and I've read that the most popular present is an expensive shaving razor!!!

 

I'd be cool with a men's day.

Men's day, women's day, sounds fine to me. Everyone should be appreciated, if it takes a special day for people to think about it, no problem.

 

I wouldn't really mind, even though I can see where peyback is coming from(without all the harsh wording). There wouldn't be a human race with'em. If all they ask for is one day out of the entire year, let them have it...it's the least we can do. Even though they get on my last nerves sometimes, my life would be a much more mundane and uneventful. Godbless women.

 

The whole thing is that there was no Valentine's Day in Russia until recently and there is no Mother's Day, so March 8 is the only women's holiday. My grandmother doesn't like it by the way, she once told me: "I don't like March 8 becuase it's just another excuse for a big dinner at home, and the woman has to clean and cook all day for all the guests, then make herself ready, and by the time she receives her "congratulations", she is in a half-fainted state!"

 

Different traditions, different holidays. We Americans are just different, I guess.
