The sheer insanity...they are just sneaks. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2885320/Police-Teen-shot-dead-shopper-wanted-shoes.html
It is plain stupid for people who die over shoes made by poor people who can't even afford them. There is no telling the funerals of those dead fools costs about ten or twenty Jordans.
"Air Jordans are manufactured in China and reportedly cost Nike a bit more than $16 a pair. The Air Jordan 10s are listed on Amazon for $250 to $550 a pair, depending on the style and color." http://www.citizen-times.com/story/...2014/07/27/real-costs-pair-sneakers/13181055/ Nike gross over $35million in sales the first day, alone.
Beat me to this. I don't understand name brand. I understand kids don't know better but at some point you have to realize that you are losing money.
waiting for the "where are the parents" questions. i mean come on ....kids killing another for shoes....follow the dumb crumbs dont blame nike
I recall when those sneakers came out, it was like a huge tsunami. Boys and men wanted to get these shoes and would pay just about any price to get them(even the knock-offs). And, of course, there were those who profited by robbery and extortion. Such feeding frenzies are ironically a celebration of an extraordinary athlete who had dazzled basketball fans the world over. I don't think Michael Jordan ever, for one moment, expected this kind of response. Kids were even killed for bomber jackets years ago.
I bet they don't know it only costs Nike a couple bucks to make those Jordans..and they are made by slave-workers.
hell when jordans first came out....i didnt know. i looked at the price and i said "bullshit keep that. wheres kmart at?"
Not excusing this teen's behaviour when I say this, because it could have ended terribly for the shopper, like it did for the chicago school kid murdered for his jacket last week....but he didn't attempt to jack the shopper for any shoes...he wanted THOSE shoes. The teen had the money to buy them and tried to. ..it seems the fervor that is incited to make the desire for them so great...is very encouraged, yet the supply is deliberately withheld. Why? So yeah, Nike need to contemplate that.
I posted this elsewhere and in this case, I support current gun laws People are crazy out here for real I had an uncle get robbed in philly over his kicks
ok. heres my thing ...you rob the dude...what happens if they dont fit? then what....sell them? damn.
Stop playing A fresh pair of Jordan's don't lose their value When I used to sell sneakers, they always sold out.....didn't matter what year they were originally released as long as they were in new condition Trust me someone would buy them That's like walking out the store with 2 bills in your hand Lol
shheed. let pookie come to me in the barber shop with some sneaks. "pookie pookie...man . come on . im not gonna put some shoes on that has been worn by some other dudes crusty ashy feet. did u at least spray lysol in there"
Good point. Suffice to say it's what Petty explained...he likely intended to buy a pair to resell them on ebay...like people do the I-Phone. Regardless, his fateful error was not understanding that people are hip that they are targets until safely home from these crazed events..and come prepared.
