WW/BM: What does the future hold for us?

I wanted to get everyone's opinion regarding the state of WW/BM unions; do you see the number of these marriages growing exponentially, modestly, very little or even regressing?

What would you WANT to see happen to IR and how it's viewed?

What do you THINK WILL HAPPEN to IR in the future?

 

Nothing.

I don't get people who think of intercultural relationships as a type of social movement. Love or even basic lust doesn't function that way. All of the major civil rights issues have been resolved, so let the chips fall where they may.

 

I would like to see the word "interracial" fall out of common usage. Because then people will realize it's a human race, not a fractionated bunch of races. Yes I just made up that word.

I'd like to see what we describe as IR couples as the norm where no one even takes a second look or considers it otherwise.

 

It will be a long time if that happpens.

 

As the population becomes more diverse, I think mixed marriages will continue to increase. But marriage as a whole will decline.

 

I believe WW/BM unions will increase based on the acceptance of a larger segment of society, partly due to other racial unions. The emancipated liberated white females will demand the mates of their choosing and will rebuff many of the still "numb nuts" who feel that they (white women) are their property. I would love to see a IR movement in this country and the world that would fight against the evils of racism. I feel that white women are the key to this movement. Until some courageous white female(s) step forward and demand that sexual liberation for them extend beyond access to the boardroom, but also includes their right to marry and date whom ever they deem is their right, the white female will always be seen as the true root of racism by those bigots who want to control the white females vagina.

Well, i think that this is something we are unable to predict, for instance this could be a longterm effect on the human race as a whole, ie one mass human race, white may eventually die out (far far far in the future) or the high rate that IR is growing could just be a trend, that could die out like any other, sooo who knows, lets wait and see

 

Where will we be in the future? Hmm... Hopefully with our wives and husbands, having dinner with our kids.

 

I'd like it to be eventually not made into a big deal, I think it will continue to grow moderately with integrated schools and work places.

 

I still see a cultural phenomenon on the horizon, and it will definitely a WW/BM kinda thing going on in the future.

I'm hooked and I probably wont change my preferance any time soon. Y'all WW are where it's at.:smt023

 

I think there will be more "IR" relationships in the future, particularly BM/*W. I notice a lot more "IR" couples (not just WW/BM) when I'm out and I think it's a beautiful thing.

Because the negative social stigma behind "IR" couples aren't nearly as ubiquitous or severe, I suspect more people will venture out even further from their boxes and possibly into the arms of someone of another ethnic group.

 

When I worked in another office (back in 2002), I was hit on by a white woman that worked in the kitchen downstairs. Another white woman in that same office, someone that I never thought would be interested in black men, made it clear to me that she was interested in developing a friendship or (possibly) something more.

I just had one problem: I was ALREADY seeing another white woman that I'd met months ago. (Keep in mind that while I'm no Al Roker, I'm not Blair Underwood either...I look ok, but I'm not going to quit my career in the hopes of becoming a model!....LOL).

I don't think that these ladies would have been as brazen in 1992. Clearly, things have gotten a lot better for BM/WW relationships as time has passed. The acceptance level, at least in large metro areas of the mid-Atlantic states and from Northern California up through Vancouver, is growing by the second.

But, there is one factor that was mentioned by another poster that I think will have an enormous impact on the lives of BM/WW pairs worldwide: The most powerful man in the entire world, when you factor in his popularity in Europe, Africa and Asia, will be an African-American President of the United States. Not only is he African-American, but he is also the product of a BM/WW relationship.

For at least the next four years, this extremely popular product of a BM/WW relationship is going to be on every TV screen from here to Bangkok. And people's attitudes and views are frequently shaped by what they see on TV, by the trends that make up the times.

If you look at it from a woman's point of view, not only does she get the man that she is physically attracted to, but now there is no limit to how far he (a black man) can go. Likewise, their children have no limitations, particularly in the future.

I hate using sports examples as the sports world is different from the real one. But very recently, a football team in San Francisco hired a black head coach that had never been a head coach for an entire year before. In fact, they paid him millions of dollars to go work for them.

This is sort of what I'm talking about. People can see black men (and white women, thanks in part to Hillary Clinton) in positions of leadership and tremendous power. When people can see you in these kind of positions, they let you date or marry anyone you please (which is why Tiger Woods is so popular and can walk around in the deep south with the hottest blonde on Earth).

You don't have to be the President or Tiger Woods. You just need your ethnicity to not get in the way of becoming a President or a Tiger Woods. This is a first for black men.

Now that this has happened, there is little to stop human nature from taking it's course. Women love men that are bigger and stronger than they are...based on what we see in football, black men fit the bill more than most men. Men love women that are smaller and make them feel more masculine; white women fit the bill.

I think we are looking at a very sharp rise in BM/WW relationships worldwide over the next few years.

 

Exactly. Antropologically, Races are inexistant.

Interesting you brought this up; Mike Singletary is going to be the 49ers head coach...he's from the Deep South (Texas), and if I'm not mistaken..last time I checked, he's married to a WW!

I think people are beginning to get this; that there is a single human family; a single race. There certainly are NOT multiple races.

Just about every scientist, even those raised in old apartheid South Africa, admit this.

The only people that have a hard time with this are those without a science background who can't believe that everything they were taught (by parents and teachers) is total and complete BS.

 

I did not know that Mike was married to a white woman. It's amazing how things have changed.

I know that Hall of Fame cornerback Emmitt Thomas, a guy that I think grew up in the old segregated Texas of the 1950s, is also married to a white woman. And he credits his wife (Jacqui) for the support she provides in helping him continue his football career as an assistant coach.

Where do the two live today? Suwanee, Georgia!

Yeah, things have changed and will continue to do so in the next few years.
