I don't get it either. I suspect saliva is more likely to stick to an item but it isn't that hard to pull them apart.

Did THIEVES stop a second bomb from exploding in Manhattan? Robbers inadvertently disabled pressure cooker device by taking it out of a rolling suitcase - which they stole
Thieves may have unknowingly saved lives :freehug: in Manhattan by keeping a second explosive from going off on Saturday night.
- Two young men found the pressure cooker on 27th Street, DNA Info says
- It was inside a rolling suitcase but they put it in a garbage bag, sources said
- They took the suitcase and left, having unknowingly deactivated the bomb
- The two men are not believed to have played a part in the explosions.

This replaces the boot. I'm assuming it's easier to place on, or scoffs have found a way to remove the booted tire so they amped up the lock-method.
