Sexual Harassment/Assault Scandals

As they should. No one likes to be sexually groped uninvited. Even porn-stars.He stuck his finger in one actresses's vagina for his grope videos. He should have been charged.

That is because what these men do is in the shadows. I recall a story on ABC's 20/20 show about the sport of professional wrestling. One wrestler told the story of how he was asked if he wanted to be a world wrestling champion by some big wig. It would come with all the perks and so much more. The wrestler said he would like to be a world wrestling champion. The big wig told him that if he really wanted this opportunity, he'd have to have sex with the big wig. The wrestler flatly rejected the offer. The test to see how badly someone wants something and what a person will do to get it is a tactic that these men often use because they are in power and they claim to know what people are willing to do.

Like the guy who managed the boy bands of the 90's to early 2000's. I think his name was Lou Perlman. God only knows what he did while working with those young men. On top of that, he was a con artist.
Correct. And there was also victim Raz- B of B2K who exposed sexual predators Chris Stokes and Marques Houston.

As one of the artists who helped invent the music that exploded out of South Bronx block parties and Boys Club dances, hip-hop pioneer Afrika Bambaataa was already a New York legend in the late 1970s...

Clearly however, people like these damaged men "just don't get it" and one must know "the way to do things" and not dare get "cocky and arrogant" and well, just be a perfect victim in order to 'represent".

God, l hope these imperfect victims continue to yell it from the rooftops, screw the naysayers.

People just don't get it. There are ways to do things. You have to know what you are dealing with and up against. People have this way of getting cocky and arrogant and just do NOT realize. It's ok though - it's more of the same. All this crap just keeps the shit going...just as some want it to be.
That is a thing. They will use all past and present things you did to either win the argument or to discredit you. To those types it doesn't matter if you are a victim. I believe i is more than "patriarchy", but I understand what you are trying to say.

Rose is known for making racist and transphobic statements. But it also doesn't mean that she isn't a victim of sexual assault. She is a crap person, but she is also a victim.

The tricky thing is that if you want to take on an institution that is known for it's misogyny, you have to keep your nose clean. Otherwise, they will use it all against you.

The same goes for when men have to combat the many misandric institutions in our society.

Part of the concern/fears about the way he did this is that gay people have had to fight against the idea that they are perverted and that somehow if they are gay they must also be pedophiles.

I think this is what you were referring to in terms of a "predatory gay man"?

In a lot of movies, gay men were more often comic relief, a compassionate shoulder for a woman to lean on.

A predatory gay man is a sociopath. Driven by his own sexual desires. He could be into bdsm or other activities that let him enjoy the rush of power it gives him. Even rape.

It was said that Charles Manson was bisexual and he was in jail for raping a man.

There was a film called Compulsion with Orson Welles. The film was based on an actual case involving the kidnapping and death of a young boy by two men who were gay.

Not all in the LGBTQ community are pedophiles and rapists.

My point really isn't about the victims. I think they need to do whatever they need to do. However, if the purpose is to make a real change in any industry then I think there is much more to it than that. You have to really understand what you are up against and how far reaching it is. It's a tough thing....of course there should be change and people need to speak up and do things to make changes. However, those changes are not going to come easily. There are those who are very powerful who have a vested interest in keeping things as they wish and have done so for many many years. I think people are severely underestimating what they are dealing with. That doesn't mean they shouldn't do something about it....but the gut reactions usually are not the things that will create real lasting changes.

Thanks so much for totally twisting what I said and intended. What I said is more about the establishment and being smart about the way those who want to change things go about it. I absolutely NEVER and would NEVER said anything against any victim (the same cannot be said about you and things you have posted in this forum).

Yes, it is the status quo when you threaten that you damn well better make sure you do it the right way. It is about unity and diversity and being about those things and not just saying it. When you want to be exclusive to one group of people you will alienate others because they will know it is all about you and people sense out what you want. The White Patriarchy knows White feminist just wants to replace them. They are not threaten by that they know how to deal with it. They have holes in their movement and it will be attacked. People have trouble forgiving those who have made mistakes and bad decisions because the people are a divided bunch. Race, politics, class, ect. and we have trouble coming together because it's always the other side's fault, instead in the words of Dave Chapelle the environment being sick.

People like Rose connects to their base and have aspirations of REPLACING power instead of the power of unity and diversity. If she had unity and diversity as her message instead of "just believe women" she would have a lot of support for this bad decision and encouraged to get help while others take the lead. But political feminism and really political ANYTHING is divisive. That is the way politics work, politics does not teach and inspire unity and diversity it poisons you with divisiveness and the blame game on each other.

'Ya', I didn't twist a thing, those were your words, you accused them of "getting cocky and arrogant" in there methodology. (I don't ever see such lecturing from you when it comes to those fighting race issues.)

Clearly, your way? of doing it doesn't work because as we see, sexual abuse has been as rampant as ever by keeping them fearful to take on the 'establishment'. At this juncture, who gives a rats ass about how the 'establishment' operates -- it's on its knees right now, and now is the time to strike. Men are on notice that women's bodies are not carte blanche when they say no. .
If Rose McGowan wants to out her rapist with tears down her face, she can. No one ever listens to women calmly describing rape - it's horrific and emotionally scarring. The 'establishment' is finally learning that the expectation of sex-for-a-job days are OVER.

Ok, I get what you're saying.

A LOT of them lose their moral high ground since this shit went on and they took the money making this all look transactional. This wasn't a problem or something that needed to be addressed when they were on top. It feels like a bunch of people trying to get attention for roles. And again I'll say it if we are truly concerned about victims of sexual assault then are we focused on rich people who allegedly went through it?

If anyone tells you if you fuck me, I'll give you a job, it's really hard after the fact to claim you were a victim of sexual harassment.
YOU agreed to the terms, therefore you are no longer a victim.

Look Director Brett Ratner is an open secret that the media is waiting on:

I saw folks mention that Olivia Munn talked about Brett Ratner being a scumbag years ago & nobody took her seriously. Anybody know what interview that was?
Not sure what interview she said it in bit she wrote about it in detail years ago in her book. She gave a pretty graphic account. Something about having a handful of greasy shrimp and jacking off, being all sweaty and shit. I think it even ended with him cumming on something or shooting in the air or something

Like others on here have said, women are just as bad. If I go out to a club (maybe not so much now, 'cause I'm old), guaranteed some chick is going to sit on my lap, at the very least. Or, just start giving me a lap dance. No permission asked. They'll say shit like, "Can you still have sex?" No convo. No introduction. No asking my name. I've had an older woman start to unbuckle my pants in the lunch room at work. In front of everyone. I've been kissed by random chicks. Dick grabbed by my boss. Then, she tells me, I want to see what she (this girl I was dating who would come up to my job) is all sprung over." She then had me stay after work and help her while she tried on bikinis (we worked at a clothing store). Another manager at a different store I worked used to call me "Young Stuff" and was always brushing her big ass titties against me. Which, grossed me out because she reminded me of my mom. Oh, there was the one foreign chick who came up to me at a club and said to me in her thick accent, "You look like a fun guy!" as she grabbed my dick. Which startled me, causing me to lose my balance and fall (I was still able to walk back then with a cane. But, was unsteady if bumped too hard). Finally, a relatively famous comedienne (I'm not using her name because I'm not fucking up someone's career over bullshit), was drunk one night and came up to me and just started sloppy, drunk kissing me on the mouth. She was/is not at all attractive. ...ugh! There's more. But, this is enough to make my point.

Experiencing all of this is why I don't understand the outrage. This kind of shit is just part of human interaction. Some people take it too far. I get that. But, unless it's rape or someone holding a job over your head or something like that, you just have to deal with it. This "Princess Feminism" is just getting way too much. You don't have the right to not be hit on. None of us do. And, we shouldn't.

So much truth. I really noticed it when I started hitting the bars and clubs with my army buddy who is a textbook jacked, douchey, pretty boy. Women didn't give a fuck about boundaries. They are often pathetic and awkward when they cape for attention. It's painful to watch sometimes.

Over? No. On a decline? Possibly. With social media and instagram dm culture and all that, there are still plenty of girls that have zero problem fucking for a job, status, some entry into the entertainment industry, etc. This may be true for the people classically trained/years of experience in the field with displayable talents but for the girl with 4 million followers but no marketable talent, some of those girls actually feel empowered by what their pussy can do. The days of women using their bodies to get ahead will never go away.

If anyone tells you if you fuck me, I'll give you a job, it's really hard after the fact to claim you were a victim of sexual harassment.

It's like I said about the sex part earlier in this. At least SOME of those women accepted his advances and have fucked him. He keeps having his lawyer put out the statement that "“Any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr.Weinstein." Some of these women fucked him willingly!

I look at that part as them making a deal with the devil.
