Sexual Harassment/Assault Scandals

lol..yes you did. I have always defended Michael but you butted with me on it saying those kids were molested by him.. It wasn't heated arguing, we just disagreed on his guilt, or not. It wasn't even in a solo thread..l will try to find it.

Edit.. There is no complete catalogue of our numerous exchanges many years ago, or your complete library of 50,000 posts.
At this point for whatever reasons, we at least agree then that he was railroaded and don't believe he touched those kids...if he did in any way, l don't think it wasn't salacious in intent..l think he remained a man boy in all aspects of his personal life
Fair enough

So the men of his generation should get a pass for behavior conducted upon this generation?
He knew better in "15 and '17..

"The allegations include claims including those of a young production assistant who alleges Freeman, 80, tried to lift up her skirt repeatedly in 2015.

Only one woman who claims to have been mistreated by him was named. She is Chloe Melas, the CNN reporter who wrote the article who claims Freeman called her 'ripe' and told her: 'Boy I want to be there' as she interviewed him while six months pregnant in 2017.

Granted the "ripe" is just words not so bad, so meh, but repeatedly lifting a skirt? I'd be freakin mortified if a man, let alone a boss, did that to me at work.
What was the context though was she doing something similar. The fact it took a year after all this started signals to me it wasn't the same as a Weinstein or Cosby thing.

Indeed, I will say it again, Mike Pence's policy of never being alone with any woman but his wife, is looking smarter and smarter.
I see a double-edged sword in that logic. Sounds more like he is low-key admitting that he cannot control his urges, and less to do with being blamed for something.

Certainly could be interpreted that way, may be something to that according to this interesting article on the topic ...

"From that day on, Graham said, he “did not travel, meet, or eat alone with a woman other than my wife.” It was a way of following Paul’s advice to Timothy in the Bible, Graham wrote: to “flee … youthful lusts.”

I suppose. But, the bible is rife with contradiction anyway, so it's hardly a book for moral guidance, in that regard, especially when you have to resort to that as a means to exercise some semblance of control.

That's what I'm thinking when hearing about some of these. Something tells me they went back and forth about it. And to wait this long over something that isn't rape or sexual assault tells me they are also motivated by a dislike of him. How many famous men are there right now that has been sexual aggressive with females without them coming forward. I know two that are. And those two are Jimmy Kimmel when he use to be on The Mann Show and rocker Tommy Lee.

And what happened to those Ben Affleck allegations and the ACTUAL tape of him groping a woman. They let that slide, but Morgan Freeman has to go down.

It's definitely not on the level of Weinstein or Cosby. Context is appropriate here.

Waiting a year... I think the burden weighs heavily on the woman, in the sense that all hell will break loose coming out against a man of his stature in the industry. She may have felt more comfortable now with the support of the #metoo movement.

I think it's wise that he didn't try to deny it, instead placing it as a "misunderstanding" and acknowledging his inappropriate behavior.

Why would they like him if he sexually harrassed them?
I agree Kimmel has gotten an undeserved pass.

The Screen Actors Guild is considering stripping Morgan Freeman of the lifetime achievement award he accepted five months ago during the peak of Hollywood's #MeToo and Time's Up protests after eight women alleged sexual harassment against the veteran star.

'These are compelling and devastating allegations which are absolutely contrary to all the steps that we are taking to ensure a safe work environment for the professionals in this industry,' a representative for the Guild told TMZ.

Now this is weird...
He was welcomed to the stage by Rita Moreno, a long-time friend who he kissed on the mouth after walking to the stage.

Freeman used his speech to complain that the statue was 'gender specific'.

It was an apparent extension of the complaints about gender inequality and sexism made throughout the night and throughout the entire awards season.
He accepted the award graciously, saying: 'This is beyond honor, this is a place in history.'

Afterwards, he walked off stage with Moreno, he kissed her on the mouth again.

The SAG Awards featured a female-only line-up of presenters in a nod to the fervent #MeToo and Time's Up movements.

I already said he should be explicitly told that he crossed a line. What he did would have been considered flirting 25 years ago, so I don't think we should shun him and lump him I with the sexual predators of the #MeToo movement.

I was around 25 years ago, Thump...pulling (my/our) skirt up repeatedly at work was NOT considered FLIRTING. My gosh..no way a boss would do that and get away with it.

I agree he's not a sexual predator. He's a creep.

If they didn't see it as that before, then why now? Was he the only male celebrity that these women interviewed behaved like that? Why single him out? People's feelings can change especially if they don't agree with him on things they found out later about him, like for example political stances has changed people's opinions on folks and whether they like them or not. Plus as we have seen with the Aziz Ansari case metoo and timesup has broaden the terms of sexual harassment, assault and rape to point the slightest touch or vebal gesture can be seen on the level of those things. And for SAG to be thinking about that and Ben Affleck gets a pass when he is on video actually committing unwanted touching of a woman's breast who clearly was uncomfortable is hypocrisy at it's best.

I put it like this does anybody believe that if Charlize Theron decided to change her mind on how she felt about Will Smith kissing her on her neck and comes out now and gives a interview where she said she felt uncomfortable when he did that. Is it okay for Will Smith to go down for it if she decides to come out and say something?

Flirting can consist of a lot of things, I've had 19 jobs in my life and I've seen every kind of on the job flirting you can think of.

Look I don't know what went down with Morgan Freeman and these women if he is a dirty old creep he should take responsibility and apologize. I guess I'm quick to defend him because his actions remind me of all the old guys I work with who do politically and socially incorrect things, without meaning any harm.

Have y'all noticed the good looking younger white men get a pass. James Franco and Ben Affleck got a pass

Notice that the famous white guys are getting off left and right. James Franco is still working on his show The Deuce... WITH a woman that supported the TimesUp movement, Maggie Gylenhaal.

I9 jobs?? I hope you're 75 :p

Look, staring l can give a pass, compliments, great...don't fucking pull up my skirt at work, man.
This isn't genius level logic. Morgan isn't stupid.

But what if she did feel uncomfortable...we are trained to play nice.
Personally, l would feel weird if he bit my neck or kissed it..but l wouldn't formally complain.
Can l bite you on your neck while you're giving an interview? How about your chest? Suck your fingers.. cool?

But how do we know that for certain is my point when at the time she made no fuss about it. This is where it gets tricky to where anything between a man that go down they are also training people to broaden these terms. What if the person is okay with that? How are we suppose to know that now days?

Something that they felt okay with and could've liked, they now want to say it was uncomfortable because other people told them it was. It's creating drones out of people to where they don't have a mind and feelings of their own. That is the problem with society, if something is trendy because other people's personal opinions then people jut follow like sheep and screw what they originally thought about it or felt.
