Yeah, which is why I think the tedium of corporate mass market movies will only accelerate the inevitable day when a fully AI-generated feature-length movie with theatrical quality is released. It will cost a fraction of the budget of a "real movie," it will be distributable outside of the studio system, and if it looks good enough, people won't care that it isn't real.

I think they may be playing out the story "real time" compared to the animated series. That's the plus of both animation & comic books. You can play out years or decades of a story/stories while keeping characters virtually age locked.
