I can vouch for Victoria. Day-um. Lots of good memories, and that was over ten years ago...wow. What was I doing?
I can't vouch for the "Western Provinces" (meaning west of Ontario) but I can say that Montréal is a great place. I lived there for twenty-four years. Twenty of those years was as a married man to a French-Canadian women. When I was single, back between 74-78, I never had any problem. I also found that, even though I was married, I encountered many women who seemed to be not adverse to at least flirting with a Black man (at least this one). I will say that this last idea seemed more prevalent in French-Canadian women more so than Quebec English women. If you would like to test whether my theory/idea holds, go visit during the Jazz Festival (always some time between the end of June and beginning of July) - it's a two-week-long party. Beyond that, suffice it to say that the Maritime provinces (especially New Brunswick, Nova Scotia & Newfoundland) seemed just as open. As long as you have your shit together, don't act like an asshole, and are yourself, you will do fine. As far as Toronto is concerned, and London as well, go for it, you should have a ball...no pun inteneded...as long as you are ready to be real - Canadian women, I think, are more apt to be attracted to one who is just themselves and not "frontin'" more so than American women. To my fellow Americans (females) I find that Canadian women's bullshit detector seems to be just a bit more refined than that of their American counterpart. Then again, that just may be my experience, which is all I have to go on, and your experience may be quite different. that's my story and I'm stickin' to it... Peace Rick
I can vouch for Toronto's diversity and open attitudes, although I was with someone when I visited...I now have my crosshairs set on Vancouver in the coming days. I'll report back.
Toronto It is a diverse city "Aa" Quite COLD this time of year, that's no joke. Public transport works very well shuts down just after midnight to outer-lining areas (Mississguna). My boy Dave works at a Nuclear Power station up in Hamilton. Fellas, if you have been to an American "clip" joint, do yourself a favor and hit up a Toronto or Montreal strip club, you won't be sorry.... Why bring these post from the dead though??
