As opposed to what? Voting for an old man with no agenda for America and a wacko from the middle of nowhere who'd be one heartbeat away from the presidency? I'll get right on that.
I'm glad Obama is the president elect. I just don't agree with the people who voted for him soley because of his race and for the purpose of making history.
You're a bitter man. Who pissed in your cheerios? Good guess on all accounts, but no. 1) I don't solely date white women, 2) On some issues I am conservative, on others not so much... I like to think I do not fit in either box, 3) I voted Obama. But, not because he's black.
@ Jaisee and Britty: a vote is a vote. What's the difference what's behind it? I could say that whites voted for McCain because of race as well. Clearly he was the lesser candidate so it couldn't have been because of the issues.
Well, when we're talking about putting somebody in charge of the country, I tend to consider my vote a little more important than if we're talking the NBA all-star game. I'm sure there are blacks who voted for Obama because he's black, just like I'm sure there are whites who voted for McCain because he's white. You won't find me making this type of decision based on what others are doing, though. Funny thing is we both ended up with the same candidate, but for apparently different reasons. Yet, I'm an idiot because my reasons for voting for him are different from yours?
...the closest I got was when I was about to come home. I was out at a bar with a friend , the night before his wedding, when this white man and black woman came in and sat on the opposite end of the bar from us. No problem, right...so about 10-15 min. later, she walks over and introduced herself as Nina and said she was from Africa(didn't say which part). Mind you, she introduced herself to me and to me only..not my friend.I told her my name.Right there, she gives me her number already written down on paper and goes back to her table with the white guy. My friend said, that the white guy was probably a friend or co-worker...and he made it easier for her to introduce herself to guys she interested in and not be mobbed by unwanted guys. I called her the next night but had to explain I was leaving the country in a week..so there really was no time to actually meet That one, I would have definitly pursued. just no time.
Yea, me, I've always only dated one man. The one I'm with now. I almost came close one time though. I broke up with my man. Then I started talking to a white guy, about dating. But before we actually could date or anything. Me and my "forever" man, kissed and made up. The rest is history.
I agree alot of black people voted for Obama just becuase hes black but what you just said is statistically impossible since black people only make up 12% of the US population. Lets not forget the number of whites that wouldn't vote for him just because he is black too. I'm just going to stop here. lol Alot of people believe or want to believe in things that arent even statistically true or possible. This thread could take a turn for the worse.
I meant the majority (not all, mind you) of the black people who voted for Obama were black voters who just voted for him because he was black. I thought that might be a "given" considering the subject of this thread. Excuse me. I don't doubt that at all. But this thread is about black people and what whites have to say about black people. So I didn't feel the urge to point out (and I sure wasn't forgetting) the number of white people that wouldn't vote for Obama because he is black. I feel the same about them (the white people who did not vote for Obama because of his race as the black people who did vote for Obama because of his race.) But this thread isn't for how I feel about white people. Sheesh, nitpicky, are we?
care to expalin ,Greco, any specifics? Black people fuckin' up in front of white people..or in general?
