When I first began communicating with the woman who became my wife I didn't tell anyone, not my friends or family. When I went to Russia to see her several times no one knew I left the country. I could continue but you get the picture. Be strong B and you as well DI. My wife told me what her parents thought of what she was doing, but my wife is adventurous anyway and they knew this, so they quickly accepted she was moving forward anyway with what she wanted. Your trip there can't come sooner that it is, online chatting and phone conversations is nice but day to day interaction is needed...

Malik, i can't believe how similar your story sounds to mine. Honestly, i didn't want to tell my family that i was getting serious with somebody that i met online, because i knew what their reaction would be, but as time went on, and as feelings continued to grow, i guess i just wanted to share my joy with them. I had told my mom that i was considering traveling to Russia, but she didn't think i was serious. She soon realized i was serious about the whole thing, when i actually purchased the plane tickets.

You are dead on with your assessment. All of those things you mentioned, are exactly the same things that my family members have been berating me with since they found out about me and D being serious about each other. My family still doesn't lend me their support, but they are starting to ease up on all the criticism, because they're starting to realize that my mind won't be changed, and that this is something that i just have to do.

Because you took the exact same route that i'm now taking Malik, that gives me a really comforting feeling, because i know somebody who has been there and done it, and look at the result....you're now married with a beautiful wife and family! That's exactly what i want, and it's what i'm hoping for. I have a pretty good feeling about it happening too.:D

Please take care of him and show him a grand time and B take care of DI (Russian women require lots of attention, not all but most). Again I wish the both of you the best, your journey once he arrives will begin and I hope after he returns to the US it continues.

I'll definitely take care of her Malik, and i'm positive she's going to do the same. She's such a good girl, and she's making sure that everything is set up for me to have a great time. She even arranged for me to have my own apartment free of charge thanks to her best friends mom.:p I'll be leaving this wednesday, and will definitely take as many pics as humanly possible. I don't have anything but success on my mind, and i'm sure this trip will be just that. Please pray that i have a safe flight, and i'll talk to you guys when i get to Russia!:p

I am kind of new here, but here is my 2 cents. True and ever lasting love require significant work: taking uncalculated risks, faith, great communication and most of all trust. So in that note, trust your and DI's instict. Don't give in to Naysayers. You only live once. So Live, Laugh and Love.

Represent Chi town, most of all be safe and have a good time.

If you have allot of faith and hope than you can make a long distance relationship work. All it takes is trust and communication ~ no matter the distance, if you make yourself available to the other when they need you, even if it is by phone because of distance than you can make it work. I would love to hear how it all ends up for you Bryant, for you and Di..... :D
 
I hope to have a success story soon. the impression I get is that women are hesitant in contacting guys from Africa.

I can't help to not like Nigerians. I think they have messed up the smallest chance African guys from other Africans of meeting a someone. Not even African American girls wants to take a chance with African guys.
 
i have not been looking but that is an interesting point. I have not used the computer to find someone to date before; it is a new experience for me. there are alot of bad things and good things that i have heard coming from the computer on meeting someone. I just like meeting new people on the computer and chatting but someday maybe who knows, i will strike it with a person and connect with them.:smt060
