LOL,have you ever came across a person like this?A thug with a degree,and that most of his money is legit? I remember coming across 1 dude like that from maryland,he was an accountant.Had his own business.He was pretty successful from what i saw.He'd dress like a dipset member/rapper,but alot of his money was legit.He still felt the need to do alittle hustle on the side(drugs) and i never understood that.He was a grimmmeeyyy dude,and if your average person saw him they'd definately wouldnt think that he had a degree,let alone his own accounting business. I ask this,because alot of girls seemt o be looking for a dude like him,but dudes like him are extremly rare lol
a thug with a degree is a funny thing, he is propably playing up the whole thug thing so that ignorant peeps dont throw stereotypes of him of maybe acting white or being soft. This sort of individual is actually counter productive to black people because they have the opportunity to show younger kids that being educated is a good way to achieve financial independence,(not just slinging drugs, rapping or becoming a sports star) but instead choose to associate themselves with negative activity just to appear cool. I only hope this dude makes it clear to any young person he comes across that his main source of income is through legitimate activity and not through dealing drugs.

If that's how he likes to dress, then so be it. Maybe it should go to show people that the way someone dresses doesn't mean that they can't be successful or get/have a degree... That not everyone fits into labels that everyone tries to flit around... That people are individuals. Some can sling rocks on a corner, some can be accountants and some can do both or do one more than the other...
It's not really possible (generally speaking) because a true thug is too busy murdering/maiming other thugs to go to school. A hustler or a roughneck MIGHT go to college but not a true thug unless we are talking about the son of a Russian/Italian mobster etc. A hustler's goal is to make money however he can make it and a roughneck is just that...rough...a thug with a degree is like a soccer player that can't kick a ball...it doesn't exist...though a thug might be fully capable of academic achievement. Quit focusing on the thugs anyway...sometimes a quiet and humble man is better than a pretenious and loud mouthed buffoon. If you don't think so...well...as the saying goes..."birds of a feather flock together."
Plaxico Burress? 'Pacman Jones' Proof that a degree isn't as vaunted as one may think it is, as there are thugs that graduated from universities and still do stupid shit... Some people NEVER change, even after putting in 3-4 years of college and graduating.. simple reality
But you know what, a lot of brothas feel like they gotta be all shady though, even though they might have come up middle-class with both parents at home and had opportunities. That's what's sad to me.
They exist, but their very few of them out there. They do exist though I would say about 20 in a graduating class of 1000. very rare but their out there. But their harder to find. If a woman wants that then she wants it. Thugs and bad boys do us a favor gentlemen . Lets not be too rough on them now
:smt028'Thug' is a mentality, someone who embraces the streets w/out any designs or aspirations of growth outside their block. Some of us have done 'thuggish' things, but we don't embrace the 'Thug' mentality (<-Krayzie Bone, in my Top-5). It's funny the even us bm are simplifying it so much. Many cats on the street are extremely smart, but it takes the ones with the stronger mentalities to see through the 'Thug' lifestyle, and step outside their block to join the rest of us in a progressive society. For me, it's almost offensive because I can rock the 'Thug-look' (such an elementary minimization IMO) as we seem to claissify it, switch to 'refined-urban', and polish up as Mr. Corporate all w/in a day's time. Believe it or not, 'Real Thugs' don't rob lil'old ladies. Oftentimes, they're decent folk like you and me, but for whatever reason or circumstance, they've resigned themselves to support themselves by illegal means. David Banner himself has an advanced degree if I'm not mistakin'..and he's no poser. M-F, and even on the weekends, I work with and report to corporate execs, yet most of my pardnas or folk in my enviroment have records longer than this thread. I was just strong enough to reach for the stars. I may draw up spreadsheets, issue reports, and write articles, but don't think for a second that I won't reach out and 'touch you' if the circumstances call for it. That doesn't make one a thug...and yes, I'm degree'd.
