What part of Spain are you? I've been to Barcelona, and let me tell you, I felt no love at all from the women there. They were all drop dead gorgeous too, riding on those mopeds.
I used to work in Barcelona and I agree with you ,not many ppl are very liberal and there are enough racists around.Lets just say that ir couples aren't exactly the norm here.I also had some really bad experiences with racism in the past.
Barcelona is a most beautiful city, and I absolutely love The La Rambla area, but maybe your people are upset with the influx of third world immigrants, of whom I did see quite a few of. Now France, was a little more liberal than Spain, and in Italy, I actually got chased, both in Cicily, and Rome. However, you Spainards are on average, the most spectacular to the eye. May I ask, how did YOU end up with a bad experience from racism, aren't you caucasian?

Of the three countries that I visited, during my "Mediterranean" excursion, Spain, France, and Italy, the most spectacular of those "Mediterranean" women to me were the Spainards.
