So how do all the ppl in Europe who don't have a gun live? We r still alive. Ok. If somebody broke in my house and tried to kill me, I might get a knife and kill him myself (only the thought horrifies me and I've never been able to hurt anybody, but you never know what can happen in panic situations). But what I mean is that the knife u have in the kitchen it's not a weapon that has been bought for that purpose. The gun can be used only to hurt people. What else can you do with a gun? Do you eat the icecream with it? No. I'm not surprised that teenagers in the US go to school and kill ppl like it's nothing. The whole american society legitimate that. It doesn't happen only in the US of course, but mostly yes. Of course. It just means that you wouldn't mind killing somebody in the eventuality u need it, though. I don't understand how can you guys brag all the time to be the best country ever , and legitimate the use of weapons, the wars made for economical reasons and the death penalty. That's a contraddiction. In my opinion, that's uncivilization.
Weapons everywhere = Incivil USA = Weapons everywhere USA = Incivil. Aristotelic perfect sillogism. Am I right, Saty? yeah, come on, bitch at me now guys
TS I understand your point but I have a gun because I like to target shoot, not for the intention of shooting someone/thing living. I've never once shot my firearm at somebody, only targets and that's where it's utility ends for me. I must admit that I cannot eat ice cream with it.
lol i agree with you we do have many problems with guns in this country and we wonder why there are so many school shootings and shit. btw ive never owned a gun
Thick,I understand what you are saying. Having a gun or knowing a person who owns one is scary. The sad part was that in Italy the only people who owns guns are the government, mafia, and the rich.
TS, I love you like a sister, but this part kind of pisses me off. No country is perfect, not even America. Claims that America is the best country ever are no less ridiculous than claims to the contrary. America is what it is, some love it some hate it. Along the lines of the other point, you said that you would use a knife to protect yourself, but not a gun? You know that it is a lot more personal to stab someone than it is to shoot them, yes? Assuming you even get the opportunity to do so. PS. One of the gun advocates is from Canada, it's not all Americans.
Yeah, like Immortal Technique said. Anybody can shoot a gun. If you want to test your hardness, stab somebody, looking at them dead in their eyes. Not that anybody is trying to be hard, but just the difference between a gunshot and a stabbing is pretty great.
Even if a country doesn't advocate guns people will still get them. More and more people are getting guns here and in other European countries. I just wouldn't feel safe if they were legalised, sounds silly because there are 1001 other ways someone could harm or kill my family, but still... ahh I dunno. I just don't like the idea. Yeah, like Jaisee said, I couldn't stab someone I don't think, I'd probably just throw it at their head. I think I'd be better with a baseball bat, less blood, but I'm weak and my arms are pretty pathetic. Ah, all I can hope is that I don't need to defend myself against some crazed attacker. I can understand someone in the US having one, I guess, because everyone has one... well not everyone... but still, I think I'd just be scared Jacob found it or something. I guess if I lived in a violent area I may be more likely to have a weapon, it ultimately seems pointless though because I'd be rubbish at defending myself. I do think Mase/pepperspray should be legal here though, it's classed as a firearm here so you can go to jail. Pretty stupid, I guess if it was legal people would be spraying it at everyone. Ouch. This sounds like a contradiction to my views on guns but some of the American guys pics out in Iraq on that Hot or Not site with their big ass guns are pretty hot. Maybe it's the uniform.
:smt068Irionically, I think if SuperThickShawty had a gun right now, she'd shoot us gun advocates!!!:smt003 ..don't get upset lil'mama, there's nothing uncivilized about owning a gun. That's like telling someone who learns self-defense that they're primitive. Anywho, many of the fellas would come to your rescue if in need.:smt058
Yes, this thread came out from our conversation on weapons we had some months ago, if u remember. I know we disagree. I know everybody disagree with me. Hope this won't stop you guys being fond of me . I think u r uncivilized but I still love u, lol, Italians are worse, that is. BTW I would never use a knife and you are right, it would be much harder to use one. I feel bad even when I cut hams at work lol. I was just saying that in those moments you might not know what you are really doing, so having a gun under my bed could make me get it and shoot at somebody even if I'm the kindest person ever. That's why I'm scared about people owning them. No, I wouldn't shoot anybody. My hip bump is enough And well it's all about the opinions. Ownin a gun is something very bad and uncivilized in my opinion. I know, thought, that it's in the human nature but if it was for me, there wouldn't be no army, no weapons, nothing It's a cultural thing. You know, counting even the experiences I had with american guys, I think that the cultural differences between Europe and US r incredibly huge. We have so different historical backgrounds. You are perfectly right, and you know how I hate that shit. girl, u r great!
I think it's an individual's right to own a weapon. I believe in the 2nd Amendment wholeheartedly, in addition to the whole Bill of Rights. There was a case in Cleveland a few years ago where a man successfully defended himself and his property with a firearm by shooting and killing one of the assailants. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2007/04/cleveland_man_caught_in_gun_co.html It's just funny how the people in the community made a fuckin shrine to the thug criminal who died and chased the law-abiding citizen out of the neighborhood. Go figure
