Yeah. I'll just find a hole in the ground to live in then lol "When Kramer hears about this, the shit's gonna hit the fan" *shit hits the fan* :smt043 That sounds like a good idea lol
I know that flight! I have been on it way to many times. But one is to many. My condolances to you on the trauma.
It is good when this happens, and why I don't worry so much about getting a lot of rest the night before.
...and the winner is: Sleeping ties with using your laptop as the most popular in flight pastimes. Thanks for voting.
I like to read a magazine and listen to music, and get extremely bored really easily. I love when the person next to me is talkative and nice, cause it sucks when you sit next to someone who had garlic the night before, or ensures that they get all the room they need. Long plane rides are the worst, especially alone!:smt101
i have a 20 hour flight on the 19th of june.. i find it hard to sleep however i will try other than that i will reply on the movies and my laptop/iphone to entertain me i will also be stuck at Beijing airport for 10 hours... so just like the movie the terminal I will work in construction and fall in love..... lol
Hoping I don't die! I hate flying but have to do it often and uually 20 hour + flights. 1 valium + 1 glass of red wine = who cares about anything!
The flights are to see family and friends. I live and work overseas but yes.......the pull of home is starting to call. I have a 27 hour flight in a few weeks. Just thinking about it makes me nervous.
Hey Sir Nose, Almost every airline flies into Dubai. They just opened new terminal at the airport which is exclusively for Emirates Airlines. Just like everything else in this country it is huge and over the top! Working here as a westerner is ok. It is fairly moderate for a Muslim country. You can buy alcohol, lots of nightclubs, etc. You have to be culturally aware and use common sense but that is easy. The financial crisis has taken a toll here as well. The city is covered with cranes but none of them are moving. Someone said the construction crane should become the new symbol of Dubai! I have learned a lot about the culture and religion over here as well which has been nice. It has been a good experience. I live very close to a large mosque and I have come to love the sound of the call to prayer. It is really beautiful. I only wish I could understand what was being said. My Arabic is dismal, but I am trying to learn. It is hard because most people speak english and when they see you, they automatically switch to english.
Thanks for the info, I have heard that it is a good place to work for maybe a couple of years. I'm sure the construction boom will resume soon. Do you see a lot of westerners there from various countries? What is the typical makeup of people in the clubs (if you've been).
