I think there may be a thread about drinks somewhere, but I can't find it. Anyway! I like mixing drinks, so I'd like to share some recipes. I made a new one tonight, and it's sooo good. 1 part vodka (flavored light rum would be a good alternative, but really any light liquor works) a drizzle of strawberry daquiri 1 part sprite 2 parts mango mohito Poured over ice mmmmm. I have a new favorite. It's so pretty, too. A warm pink. Girly, yet delicious. A good margarita 2 parts sweet and sour 1 part oj splash of pink lemonade 1800 plata
Hey DH, I girl after my own heart. I started the last drinks thread! My favourite at the moment: Lychee Martini 2 ounces Stoli Vanilla Vodka 2ounces lychee juice (from a can of lychees) Put in maritin shaker with ice. Shake Pour into a cold martini glass with 2 lychees Delicious!
I must say, Lychee is an excellent mixer when proportioned properly. Had a martini with it the other day and it was excellent. I happen to be a person who has spent years on the "creative" side of bars, so i'll share my not so secret Hennessy Sidecar. An old classic cocktail that should still be honored among the greats, and cognac makes an excellent base for a drink. You get a lot of the sugar sweetness coming through as well as the mellow notes of wood from barrel aging. 2 Oz. Hennessy VS ( must be VS, don't waste the better bottles on mixed drinks. Better to be savored alone...) 1/2 Oz. Sweet and Sour Mix 1/2 Oz. to 1 Oz. Lemon juice or lemonade concentrate (depending on your preference for tartness over sweet) 3/4 Oz. High end triple sec, preferably Cointreau 3 squeezed Lemon wedges, squeezed and dropped in shaker (important the rind goes into shaker to get some of the oils off of the lemon zest. 1/4 oz. orange juice Combine over Ice in shaker, shake vigorously, and then pour into Martini glass with half sugar coated rim. Garnish with a half orange slice, either on the rim or floated in center of glass. Get Crunk!:smt023
 Whiskey? That's one kind of alcohol I could never develop a taste for. I'm not one for drinking cocktails alot. I will drink beer or do so-co and lime shots. LOL. Sometimes wine, sometimes margaritas/daiquiris....but mostly beer and shots.
I LOVE cocktails. I would drink them all the bloody time if I could. I'm actually pretty good at making them as well because one of my best friends used to be a cocktail bar man so our house last year was very classy, always drinkin' cocktails and shit. My favourite is White Russian but it can be quite heavy because it's mostly cream but it's delicious and very simple. All you need is Kahlua and Vodka. Pour two/three shots of vodka in a class, a shot of Kahlua, add ice and top it up with cream. Deliiiicious.
Yum! I love cocktails too. My favourite is pretty basic, a cheeky vimto. I had a really nice cocktail the other night, it was Archers, cranberry and something else... I love really fruity ones.
Mmmm...those are good. I had way too many of those at my company's holiday party last year. Between drinking I don't know how many of them, and the couple of shots I had, I went into my hotel room, fell down on the bed and passed out. Love them though!!
I Like a simple Vodka tonic w lots of lime. Or a captain Morgan drink I do when its cold. Captain Morgan, spiced cider, cinnamon - Yummy!
mmm, yummy drinks. don't get me wrong, though. I loooove rum and coke. Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum and coke is so good. It's actually my traditional birthday drink, and every january I always have a 5th of the Cap'n to celebrate. But some of these girly drinks are sooo good. Haha. Usually I just go with whiskey at the bar, though, cause...well, it's cheaper. lol
Mine too. Lotta calories in that though. Or margaritas are always a winner. Anything with tequila puts me in the most amazing mood.
I know, it's so unhealthy. I only tend to drink one or two when I'm doin' cocktails. We went for cocktails today actually, had pitchers of woo woos and passion fruit mojitos. Delicious!
Hmm, I'll have to remember that. Cherry. I should be going "out" sometime soon with my sister-in-law and her cousin to get our drink on. Coconut rum and 7up is good too. Very tasty and cheap too, I think. It's like you're not even drinking alcohol (which is what I like the most usually). Very light, crisp, and refreshing. I don't really like coconut flavor or 7up, but together, they're good.
