My OH (Black Jamaican) has been to Latvia and Poland.. he said he did get looks, but nothing more than that... no worse than what he would get in a rural part of the UK. He did stay mainly in tourist areas and was with a group of white guys, so maybe it could have been different in different circumstances?
I had been to Estonia but none of other Baltic nations. Bex,tell your OH to just be safe. RussiaLove,we know not all Eastern European women are bad and most brothers would love to visit them. It is just the White males there made it difficult. I remember a penfriend of mine whom I wished I got in touch with wanted to meet me in Poland instead of Liev in the Ukraine. Name one "Black Male" friendly country? Not even the United States is safe for most Black Men, so what DIFFERENCE does it make if you visit another country where the chances of something happening to you is SLIM AND NONE? Does it make you feel better that most of the things racially motivated come from somebody that speaks fluent English and has pasty skin?? I will never going to visit that country in my life. Knowing that there's HIGH rate of Racism there, so it's not worth to visiting that country.
Did you just ignore DJ4monie post NC? seriously, if you don't want to visit, nobody will make you, but there's as just as much racism in 'that country' as there is in other countries you want to visit, such as Japan. My white friends have people running up to them (outside of Kyoto and Tokyo) going 'white foreigners!!! white foreigners!! look at their eyes!!' so it really won't be such an easy ride going there as a black man unless you just stick to Tokyo. I mean fair enough if you do, they have musical toilets and vending machines selling used panties, what more could a man want.
I wonder if the brother go on those "bride" tours would he be safe with other brothers or it would just be the same?
