i've been saying this one for years. great observation, kenny. hef is from a different era in american social politics and mental sub-culture altogether. people want to parallel it to pimping but i think that's an inexact understanding of the relationships exchanged with these personalities. it's like artisans from the days of beatniks and mods, with the notions of free love and experimentation... and he figured he'd make some cake off that mix. lol they need to make a bioepic movie about this cat while he is still alive to be a technical advisor. make sure the story is right. they did the larry flint joint (good job woody harrelson), now it's time to up the ante. hef has done a ton with his business game. at some point the magazine will fade but the brand will continue on. as for the rappers and athletes, their egos can't withstand someone else getting more spotlight than them. especially more than one light gleaming on someone else. whoa.
