Paying out to who? You got the game all twisted. Hef gets paid off all those women. They provide ad revenue. They provide multimedia content (print, web, DVD, cable, Pay-per-view). They fuel his image. If they do get paid it's nothing compared to what he brings in. Those chicks go to the Mansion for free, just to be down with the brand. You don't see a whole lot of little Hefs running around either to pay for. If anything Hef took pimpin' to a whole new level.
I think all that money Hef makes off the Playboy empire qualifies as him getting paid Chi. The money he spends is just the cost of running the empire, an investment to guarantee he continues to get paid.
